POurs a cloudy golden color, with a creamy egg like head. Great aroma, but the taste is just exquisite and unrivaled. A new flavor is unmasked with eac sweet sip, the first being slightly reminiscent of granny smith apples, following with bananas, raspberries, cloves and spices with a bittersweet clove honey aftertaste. About hlafway through the lacing really becomes a joy to watch from rich and creamy in the finish w/ a bitterness and clove bite right to the final finish. wyzzywyz22 (815), Wirral, Merseyside, England

Flavour is full bodied with plenty of fruit, lots going on as this break dances on the palate. Incredibly well balanced. A top class Belgian ! mirjukka (706), LOHJA, Finland

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Oct 11, 2008 Bottle from Regional. Pours slightly cloudy golden with a thick smooth white head. A sweet nose on this one, smells like a tripel should! Aromas of clove, citrus, corriander and sweet wheat beer character. Aroma is dominated by clovey citrus. Flavour is full of citrus and clove, with a sprinkling of corriander, spice, and a sweet malt flavour. Spice lingers with the sweetness. No alcohol detected at all, this drinks so easily and at 8% you’re feeling quite nice at the end of the glass. This is the closest thing to the original Westmalle Tripel I’ve found yet. A simply first-rate beer. When tasted next to a Westmalle Tripel the flavours are much more pronounced with a far longer aftertaste in the Westmalle. Tripel Karmeliet is the perfect introduction to the Tripel style of beer. kiefdog (1654), Tampa, Florida, USA

Pours a golden yellow with one-finger white, foamy head. Reasonable head retention. Aroma is sweet, syrupy, candy sugar, yeast, and malt. An interesting grain aroma is present as well. Flavor is candy sugar, grain, syrup, and a slight spiciness at times. Very carbonated. One of the best tripel style ales we have experienced. BeerIsMyGod (13), USA

Had a tanned blonde color and soft head. I had a somewhat difficult time picking up the scent...I don’t know if it was where I was, or if my nose wasn’t working. The taste was fantastic though. It was hard to pick out an individual flavor, but it was a nice fruity blend that seemed to have a slightly peachy taste. In addition, I could sense a nice sugar lingering in the background. Overall, a great beverage that I want to try again...this time from a bottle. jburns00 (1), Atlanta, Georgia, USA does not count | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 16, 2008 Excellent golden color, with just the right amount of alcohol to still be refreshing in the heat of summer, overall a very good tripel. This poured, from the little 330 ml bottle, an explosive HUGE foamy light tan head. It had to be the biggest I’ve ever seen, but it eventually faded away to almost nothing. The aroma was mostly fruity with some floral undertones, and the colour was a cloudy medium gold. The taste was again fruity with some caramel lurking in the background. A truly marvelous beer.
