DruncanVeasey (1612), Burbage, Leicestershire, England May 27, 2007 Updated: Jun 13, 2008 8.1% bottle. Pours with anything from a pale gold clarity to a ruddy orange haze, depending on the bottle and the pourer. Looks like anything from a (mountainously headed) lager to a Wit. Stairods of spritz. Aromas of banana, coriander, pear and vanilla. CARDAMOM. Big, muscular, herbal snout. A benchmark for Belgian noses. Mouth is crisp and sherbety with a heady attack of pear and orange liqueur fruitiness, oats, citrussy hops and pepper. Lots of alcohol emerging as it warms. Finishes here with quite an aggressive alcohol bitterness, but I know from (painful) experience how wickedly silky, oaty smooth and refreshingly fruity this beer can drink. Without question one of the finest Tripels around.
jaghana (12), Strasbourg, France Aug 19, 2008 This yellow cloudy beer is very suprising its full of flavour and very tasty. Smells like a White Beer but the end is very long fruity, malty and floral. Carbonation is soft, very interesting beer. TeamTrappist (134), jericho, New York, USA Aug 18, 2008 Tap, poured a clear blonde with little to no head. Nice carbonated and dry with some nice spice notes. Finish was also dry with lingering spice flavor and slightly bitter. Borresteijn (427), Amstelveen, Netherlands Aug 18, 2008 Bottle. Dark golden with a big fluffy white head. Looks fantastic in its own glass. Aroma is malty sweet, fruity, a little yeast. Flavour is malty, sweet and fruity, alcohol warmth. Slight sour finish, lots of carbonation. Very soft mouthfeel. Excellent tripel. Not nearly as good from tap though, which is way too sweet. charlotte (1163), Vanløse, Denmark Aug 18, 2008 Hazy golden colour with medium head.Aroma is sweet with taste of Mandarin and apricots.Has a high carbonation but still and nice mild finish. mikalooch (14), , New Jersey, USA Aug 17, 2008 Pours out a brilliant golden orange. Sweet aroma, almost like candy and ripe fruits, apricots maybe. Very sweet flavor topped off by lemony zing. Very balanced and enjoyable, very drinkable due to being very thin in the mouth. Very good Tripel, definitely tasty.
