Bottle conditioned.
First brewed 1996; claimed to be based on a recipe from 1679 which used wheat, oat and barley.
Tripel Karmeliet is a very refined and complex golden-to-bronze brew with a fantastic creamy head. These characteristics derive not only from the grains used but also from restrained hopping with Styrians and the fruity nature (banana and vanilla) of the house yeast. Aroma has hints of vanilla mixed with citrus aromas. Tripel Karmeliet has not only the lightness and freshness of wheat, but also the creaminess of oats together with a spicy lemony almost quinine dryness.

A beautiful pour! Gold body with a very thick white head that lasts quite a while. Excellent lacing results from the foam. The aroma is light, but there’s some vanilla, spice, and malt noticeable. Very soft, smooth mouthfeel with mild carbonation. The flavor is complex. Malty sweetness with notes of honey and vanilla melds nicely to a warming alcohol finish. There is some sour citrus in the nice aftertaste. A very tasty brew.

Wonderful. Pours with a huge, white frothy head with tiny, champagne-like bubbles. The aroma initially shows why it is 8.4% ABV but gives away to gentle essences of wood, clove, subtle citrus tones and even a little bit of must. After the head subsides, a beautiful golden yellow color develops in the glass. It tastes like it smells, with a somewhat thin body but overall a delight. It isn’t hard to find and is one everyone who enjoys world class beers should give it a try. Prost !

Lupulus is very well tasted, with citric notes and a light sweet taste at the end. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Golden colour clear beer with big white head. Aroma: smells wonderfull: white grapes, peach, banana, floral, white wine. Taste: light to medium sweetness, light to med floral bitterness. Flavours similiar as in aroma, altough I dont really like this bitterness. Palate: light body, dry, high lively carbonation. Overall: I prefer sweeter tripel from westmalle. It’s pretty good though.

330ml rerate in a Rochefort goblet . I drink this beer frequently ,its good shit but maybe not the heights of 4.5 shit . r8 . The nose is an amalgamation of peach covered in floral booze and kissed on the ass by a vanilla covered oat cake ..a spicy emphasis dances in the air .... golden pour with a good looking white foam .. the flavours , palates and vibes show notes of white pepper , you’re biting into a sugary peach that has been soaking in sophisticated white wine like chablis .. complex twists from rich to dry make this pretty fucking nice .

God øl. Noget creamet. Tilpas krydret. Let og frisk øl, med høj alkohol-procent

Very cloudy with a consistent creamy head. Fruity smell with a sour taste with an after tone of banana. Very bubbly on the tongue. Overall a complex and deep beer.

Impressive pale golden appearance with nice head and fine lacing. Sweetish cereal aroma, some citrus, deep and complex. The flavours are extremely complex and developing, with a malty background and a very well-balanced clove-like spiciness -not overwhelming at all-, the alcohol perfectly blended so as not to give that bitter aftertaste. As for the palate, creamy and smooth, rounded, medium to full body, but not too thick texture. Fabulous.

From bottle, light gold in color. Starts with a bit of spiciness that fades into sweet. Taste ends with hints of banana.

Smells light lemony, barnyard and wax. Slightly cloying mineral aftertaste. Nice but simple.
