COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned.
First brewed 1996; claimed to be based on a recipe from 1679 which used wheat, oat and barley.
Tripel Karmeliet is a very refined and complex golden-to-bronze brew with a fantastic creamy head. These characteristics derive not only from the grains used but also from restrained hopping with Styrians and the fruity nature (banana and vanilla) of the house yeast. Aroma has hints of vanilla mixed with citrus aromas. Tripel Karmeliet has not only the lightness and freshness of wheat, but also the creaminess of oats together with a spicy lemony almost quinine dryness.

Had this for the first time last night...came from the tap in its own glass. Had a tanned blonde color and soft head. I had a somewhat difficult time picking up the scent...I don’t know if it was where I was, or if my nose wasn’t working. The taste was fantastic though. It was hard to pick out an individual flavor, but it was a nice fruity blend that seemed to have a slightly peachy taste. In addition, I could sense a nice sugar lingering in the background. Overall, a great beverage that I want to try again...this time from a bottle.

Pours hazy golden yellow with a massive white head. Soft malty body with bread, esters, banana... Mild bitterness, drinks below it’s ABV. Great tripel.

Bottle traded from YantarCoast. Thanks. Pours straw yellow with big dense white head which stays for long. Thick lacing there is. The aroma reveals massive spicy yeast, wheat, corn & some fruit. Medium to full body. Oily texture. Malty & yeasty taste. White bread, spices, slight alcoholic touch, corn. Light bitterness appears at ending. Strangely I’m getting a feel of an well-muscled witbier drinking this. A good beer. Still I can’t get why it’s considered to be the best Tripel of Belgian origin. I’ve had a few more interesting examples.

Liknande i smak. Viss sömta i eftersmak utan märkvärd beska.

Certainly one of the best triples around. Pours a slight orangey somewhat hazy body but has a lovely clean taste with hints of fruit and spice on the finish,

Bottle into a snifter. Pours a hazy light yellow with a huge white head that lasts. Nose is vanilla, caramel, and Belgian yeast. Taste follows, with a hint of banana. Delicious.

On draught at Cafe Benelux, Milwaukee. Appearance: slightly hazy deep golden, with a thick frothy white head that lingers with brilliant lacing. Aroma: A fruity burst of pear and banana, with some sweet lemony/ orange rind and apple. Taste: Strong, sweet wheaty maltiness, with strong Belgian yeast esters of clove, pear, and light banana. A touch of light pepper shows up on the backside, followed by a light bitterness just enough to prevent the beer from being cloyingly sweet. Mouthfeel: Medium body with a light creaminess and moderately high carbonation. A touch of alcohol warmth. Finish: Lingering spicy clove, per, and banana esters. Overall: A truly world class beer, with a brilliant showcase of fruity Belgian yeast esters. Complex apple, pear, banana, and clove aroma and flavors throughout, all while hiding the true strength of the beer. Also, can’t underestimate the beautiful, long lasting head that displays wonderful lacing.

No me gusta comparar alegremente.

Piwo w kolorze pomaranczowo-slomkowym, klarowne z obfita efektowna piana. W aromacie typowe drozdze, slodkie owoce i przyprawy. Czuc lekko kolendre i banany. W smaku cytrusy, kwiaty i pszenica. Alkohol praktycznie niewyczuwalny. Obowiazkowa pozycja do sprawdzenia wsrod belgijskich piw.
