Aroma is like black coffee. Poured black in color with a tan head. Cherry flavors meet coffee flavors.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 DrinkEmUpJones (992) - Georgia, USA - OCT 28, 2011
Pours red-tinged black. Sweet cherry aroma with a hint of spice. Palate is bitter and full-bodied, neither fruity nor sweet, with a black cherry flavor. Very well balanced. Really fantastic.

Smells really good, just like black cherries, imagine that. Flavor is sweet cherry, with a bit of stoutness to the body and some dark chocolate notes as well. Really okay as a change of pace Christmas-time beer.

GABF 2011. Pours opaque with a medium-small, bubbly tan head, medium retention with light lacing. Aroma is an amazing cherry nose, dark chocolate, and cherry skin. Flavor is dark chocolate cherry cordial and a dry finish. The roast malt really dries this one out. Medium body and carbonation, low warmth.

I found my notes from visiting this brewery during my honeymoon in 7/2003. Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a black color with a large tan head. The aroma was tart black cherry. The flavor was tart and sweet cherries with a sweetish malty base and a long cherry finish. Our favorite of the bunch!

Draught at the brewpub. Overall nice, but nothing spectacular. Seemed a little disjointed. The aroma and beginning of the flavour were more gentle notes with some black cherry meat, bitter chocolate and roasted malt but the finish was a fairly burnt, bitterness like a dry stout.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Sammer (887) - Plano, Texas, USA - MAR 29, 2010
On draft at Triple 7 brewpub in Vegas. Dark pour. Light smell of cherries. Creamy mouthfeel, with a taste of cherries and chocolate. Mild finish. Overall well balanced and decent.

10th October 2008. Opaque black beer. Only a touch of cherry here but it is very well integrated with some lightly toasted malt. Nice.

on tap-pours a disappearing light tan head and black color with red tint. Aroma is black cherry, dark malt. Taste is black cherry, dark malt-chocolate, some yeast. OK effervescence. Nice, medium body, sweet stout.
0.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20 fiulijn (12179) - Malmö, DENMARK - DEC 3, 2007
Draught at the brewpub Dark brown color with mahogany shades. The aroma is a strange mix of cherry syrup, yeast, cleaning product. Horrible flavor, burnt malt and soap, very dry, with a touch of cherries. The final too is horrible, burnt malt only. I couldn’t drink even half of my glass…
