On tap at the brewpub. Pours a black body with an inch thick, dense and creamy, chocolate brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing throughout. Aroma is pretty solid with coffee and roast as well as some chocolate and toffee malts. Licorice comes in more as this warms along with a light hopping. Flavor is similar. Chocolate and toffee with an even coffee and roast throughout. A bit of a licorice comes out towards the end along with a light, earthy bitterness. Finishes with a nice roasty chocolate and very clean before leaving a lengthy aftertaste. Lighter body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, a pretty nice porter. Nicely balanced and easy drinking with a solid flavor. A pleasant surprise in Vegas!

Big chocolate and coffee aroma. Plenty of coffee and chocolate on the palate too, some vanilla creaminess. Pretty good porter, would have called it a stout, impressive among an otherwise mediocre brewery sampling.

(draft @ Triple 7 Brewpub - Las Vegas, NV) Dark black with a thick brown foam. Heavy roast aroma with nice coffee and licorice hints. Flavor is heavily roasted with a lot of coffee and bittersweet chocolate notes. Some light sweetness near the end with a nice and lingering bitter finish.

West USA trip 2010. On tap @ Main Street Station. The aroma has coffee beans and roast. Black coloured beer with a beige-brown, medium head. The taste is slightly bitter, roasted and has coffee. Some carbonation there. Good drinkeable porter.

Draught at the brewpub. Near black, small head. Strong coffee aroma. Dry, clean and grainy with medium body. There’s coffee and licorice, resiny bitterness. Simple, but well drinkable porter

tmoreau (2127) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - JUN 18, 2010
On tap at Main St. Station and poured a black/brown, with a modest, tan head and curtainy lacing. The aroma was a pleasant roasted quality with dry espresso notes and smooth malt. The flavor added to these some light sweetness, but remained mainly dry roasted coffee. Presented a medium to light body, with a little creaminess to the mouthfeel. An altogether decent brew.

I found my notes from visiting this brewery during my honeymoon in 7/2003. Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a black color with a brown head. The aroma was dry, bitter and roasty. The flavor was bitter, dry and roasty. Not my style
