2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours soft peachy amber with one finger of sandy tan head. Piney nose and very sharp flavor. Super bitter and astringent. Some peach and peanut hull notes with some pretty serious diacetyl.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours clear amber with a thick and frothy pale buff head. Strong, hoppy aroma is mainly woody with some resin tone and malty and citrus undertones. Woody hops dominate the flavor somewhat, though there is plenty of room for grapefruit and sweetish malt to share the gustatory stage. Texture has good body and fizz a-plenty. Ooh baby baby, a good IPA!

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: DEC 14, 2014 Nice and smooth. Somewhat lightly hopped for a double ipa. Still easily drinkable and keep finding myself ordering it again and again.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft at 5 Church Restaurant in Charlotte, 11/19/14
I wasnít too impressed by this one. It seemed like a flawed example of the style as well as a slightly overly boozy one. This isnít a horrible beer or anything, but it was one of my least favorite new DIPAs I have tried recently. I definitely didnít order a second.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Serving: Draft at Texacali Taco & Tequila Bar. It pours a deep red color with a thick light tan head. The nose is on the malty side for the style. Maybe a little pine in there. The flavor seems to be weak on the hop side with just a little bit of piney bitterness, but plenty of caramel, toasted malt, and a touch of booze. Not a bad beer by any means, but certainly not an IIPA.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a slightly hazy, dark amber/light brown with a generous off-white head.
Light malt aroma.
The flavor is lightly sweet. No hops in the flavor or aroma anywhere. Nothing going on here resembling any sort of IIPA. Thin.
A Strong Ale of some sort?

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft: this is a great double IPA...nice big malty flavor to balance out the hops. This is a great beer, and very well balanced. Lots of flavor.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Split a 22oz bomber with some co-workers that I brought back from NC over Labor Day weekend. Poured a dark bronze color with a small white tan head. Aroma was some heavy resin notes, pine, boozy caramel notes. Flavor was nice heavy malt notes, some caramel, resin, pine. Herbal. Pretty tasty.
