COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cherry Wood Smoked Malt and English Golden Naked Oats give this beer a truly unique flavor. Slight smokiness pairs well with the nuttiness from the oats and great flavor from German Chocolate Wheat Malt. A great beer to pair with BBQ, fish, or any hearty meal!

Clean amber brown pour with a thin white head. Rich smoky/meaty nose with a light grainy sweetness. Smoky and malty notes in the flavor. Lightly sweet on the finish. Very nice.

Location: Draft at Ri Ra, Charlotte, 12/2/14

Aroma: It has a clean smokey malt aroma, some peat, caramel, and earthy hop
Appearance: Caramel-red color in the glass with a sheet of beige head and heavy lacing
Flavor: Has a balanced flavor with light smoke, light sweetness, and a light earthy bitterness
Palate: It is medium bodied, with a very smooth and clean feel, and a soft carbonation
Overall Impression: I was actually pretty impressed by this. It has a good balance to it. The smoke is present, but not overly so.

Draft: This is very nice...they didnít overdo the smoke flavor, itís very well balanced in with a nice nutty and sweet amber beer. This is very nice and Iím sure it would be wonderful with a big grilled burger. Awesome job!

Aroma of an amber with a deep copper color with a medium off white foam. The taste is a heavier amber type beer with a hint of smoke toward the back of the taste. The palate is a amber aftertaste with maybe a bit of smoke, overall a nice beer.

On tap at Beer Camp Across America southeast. Solid amber, light on the smoke but thatís not a bad thing in my book. Would indeed be good with some bbq.

Draft. Nice coloring and aroma. Average taste. Not able to pick up smoke hint. .

Sampled at Hickory Hops 2014. Clear orange-ish red, with a ring of foam. Smells sweet carame, with a bit of smoke in the background. Itís pretty tasty, but the smoke is more of a bit player than is a featured one.

Daft at revolution ale. Pours kind of an amber brown. Definitely get smoked meaty notes on the nose. Thereís a little smokiness on the tongue but itís bland otherwise. Eh!

On tap at Block and Grinder in Charlotte. Pours an amber color with white head. Light smoke, caramel, toast aromas. Smoke, meat, caramel, bread flavors. Not bad.

A lightly hazed amber ale with a thin lacing mocha head. In aroma, sweet nutty malt with light grassy hops, OK. In mouth, a nice caramel malt with light peated notes, grassy hops, not bad.

Pint at the brewery. Pours hazy amber. I could use more smoke in the aroma, but the fruity cherry smoke that is present is very nice. Malts are very biscuity which plays well with the smoke. There are even hints at coffee in the finish. Sessionable and enjoyable, just needs more smoke.
