COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This high gravity ale was brewed with Belgian Special B, German Chocolate malts and Flaked Oats. Honey and Lactose were added in the boil. After fermentation it was aged for several weeks on oak chips and then infused with locally roasted coffee from Magnolia Coffee Company.

Black pour, light tan head. Nose is coffee, prunes, some dark fruits, chocolate. Taste is big chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, honey, some dark fruits. Silky oily palate. Really impressive beer by a brewery I had previously never heard of. Would love to try the barrel aged version.

Bottle at the Triad bottle share at Foothills organized by Mike. Slightly stinky but fairly standard and solid sweet bourbon stout. Chewy palate with lactose sweetness, moderate roast, and moderate bourbon flavor.

pours black with a medium mocha head...nice lacing. aroma is loaded with roasty espresso. flavor follows suit...just espresso/coffee through and through. mouthfeel is medium and creamy with a roasty espresso finish that lingers to roasty bitterness. awesome coffee flavor...a really nice beer!

Bomber from Brawley’s. Pours a dark brown color with a large foamy brown head. Good head retention. Aroma of big chocolate and coffee notes, some coffee grounds, some roast, herbal hops and just the faintest hint of vanilla. The taste is coffee, roasted malts, citrus hops, bitter chocolate. Medium bodied, slight lingering bitterness. No hint of the high alcohol content. Nice beer. 50th Imperial Porter Rating!!!

From a growler shared by JD. Black with a small yellow an head. Nose is chalky, creamy, lightly medicinal, roast. Thin, yet creamy, nice chewy palate. Solid, but more like a sweet stout than a porter.

UPDATED: DEC 10, 2012
Location: Draft @ Growlers Pour House, 12/9/12

Aroma: The nose is light roast, with some sweet caramel and chocolate malts
Appearance: It pours a dark brown color with a small beige head and some drippy lace
Flavor: The flavor is sweet and malty, with some subtle roast, and very little bitterness
Palate: The body is light-medium, not too watery, with a creamy feel, and a fairly short duration
Overall Impression:  This is a solid Porter. It leans sweet for sure, with the roast subtle, and the bitterness basically non-existent. Not a standout, but plenty decent for what appears to be a rather small brewery.
