COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Triple d’Anvers is the brewery’s homage to its native Antwerp. A full-bodied triple, which is easy to drink. It is a top-fermented beer, with a blonde to light amber colour. The fruity flavour and the subtle interaction between Pale malt and Caramel malt. No spices were added. A delicious symphony of malts and Saaz hops. Slightly sweet start striking a nice balance between hop-bitter and fruitiness. A fresh sparkling beer thanks to the refermentation in the bottle.

Yeasty, slightly sweet. Medium bitterness in the end. Basic Belgian, no outstanding features.

33cl bottle, Smatch, no bb. Duller Leffe orange pour, quick cameo head. Smells like cooked banana peel, heavyhanded caramalt and powder sugar, additives covering natural ingredients less than invitingly. Huge whiff of jenever coming through, boldly bearing the Belgian banner without any complexes. More sugared, peppery, coriander-laced, oldschool alcoholic banana-caramel milkshake drizzled with cheap honey syrup upon first and second sips. Dryish caramel edge. Rest was a waisteline-preserving drainpour: filling and utterly mirthless.

Nice foam, the thick layer disappears quickly. A little foam island remains in the middle of the beautiful glass. The glass displays the skyline of Antwerp. The color is golden and clear. The smell is hoppy and there is a little citrus. The taste has the same hoppy and citrusy taste. Delicious. It reminds me however of the La Chiuffe hop (naam opzoeken). Perfect afdronk.

Robe blonde reflets ambrés. Mousse peu persistante. Nez très houblonné, légère pointe de levure et d’agrumes. Bouche à l’attaque soyeuse, de l’élégance, une belle mousse et une finale amère et raffraîchissante. Une triple sur l’élégance et la fraîcheur.

Bottle at the Halls Thanksgiving dinner. Poured clear amber with a small white head. Light aroma with notes of lemon and coriander. Body is medium, with a dry finish. Flavor was lemony, with a grassy note underneath. Light all-around for a triple.

large frothy offwhite head. excellent lacing. mostly diminishing. sparkling hazy average-density light amber body. aroma: moderate hoppy, flowers, orange, tea. if: moderate sweet light bitter. ff: moderate sweet bitter; long duration. palate: light medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, metallic heavy alcoholic finish. 40 s

Sold as Kikabier on draught at Gollem in Amsterdam. Slightly sweet. Carbonation is extremely well-balanced. Taste is not incredible but it's safe.

Bottle, 11.2 oz. Nose is sweet with fruity yeast and nice dusty pale malt character, also pulls in occasional spikes of (maple) syrup and grassy hops. Pours orange-golden, clear with some unavoidable yeast particulate contributions, an oily and soapy biege head. Oily medium body a bit airy, strong Belgian yeast presence, it’s classic tripel with faint spicy and peppery notes. Sweet vanilla and lemon meringue, cream, faint grass; lightly sweet and turned inside-out, has some confectionery character, light honey. Bitterness is low but almost enough to balance the low-levels of sweetness; feel is a touch chalky and smooth despite the obvious effervescence. I’ve had a few bottles of this in the past and find them to vary somewhat with regard to cleanliness; this one’s ok, but others have been downright dirty. I’ll be back to it now and then, but just like others from De Koninck, there are elements of dumb-down and macro swillery that will make me hesitate, wonder why the flagship is still so ubiquitous in Belgium.
