COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Triple d’Anvers is the brewery’s homage to its native Antwerp. A full-bodied triple, which is easy to drink. It is a top-fermented beer, with a blonde to light amber colour. The fruity flavour and the subtle interaction between Pale malt and Caramel malt. No spices were added. A delicious symphony of malts and Saaz hops. Slightly sweet start striking a nice balance between hop-bitter and fruitiness. A fresh sparkling beer thanks to the refermentation in the bottle.

Sold as Kikabier on draught at Gollem in Amsterdam. Slightly sweet. Carbonation is extremely well-balanced. Taste is not incredible but it's safe.

Bottle, 11.2 oz. Nose is sweet with fruity yeast and nice dusty pale malt character, also pulls in occasional spikes of (maple) syrup and grassy hops. Pours orange-golden, clear with some unavoidable yeast particulate contributions, an oily and soapy biege head. Oily medium body a bit airy, strong Belgian yeast presence, it’s classic tripel with faint spicy and peppery notes. Sweet vanilla and lemon meringue, cream, faint grass; lightly sweet and turned inside-out, has some confectionery character, light honey. Bitterness is low but almost enough to balance the low-levels of sweetness; feel is a touch chalky and smooth despite the obvious effervescence. I’ve had a few bottles of this in the past and find them to vary somewhat with regard to cleanliness; this one’s ok, but others have been downright dirty. I’ll be back to it now and then, but just like others from De Koninck, there are elements of dumb-down and macro swillery that will make me hesitate, wonder why the flagship is still so ubiquitous in Belgium.

Amber clear with medium fastly dissapearing head. Mild yaty aroma, fruity notes. Yesty bitter sweet taste with carbonation, remaining bitterness.

The follow-up to the Cuvée De Koninck since the summer of 2010, when the future of this brewery began to be clouded. Eventually taken over by Moortgat (Heineken was one of its contenders), this seems to be continued to this day. Milky, creamy white head, light orange blonde colour, clear. Aroma of orange peel, peach, red apple, walnuts, caramel, grassy hops, vanilla, butterscotch, unsweetened yoghurt. Rather neutral and minerally onset, quickly becoming more fruity on a honeyish and caramelly malt base, slick and mellow, even a bit creamy, with light grassy hop bitterishness in the finish. One could argue about its self-proclaimed ’tripel’ status, but still this is an enjoyable beer, though I have the (subjective) impression its predecessor had more complexity and elegance.

Aroma of fruits, orange, yeast, hop. Flavour is fruity, quite sweet, sugar, a little alcohol, with a bittersweet finish. Drinkable, but a little too sweet.

Een van de mindere tripels in België, dan zijn er een pak betere te vinden op de markt.

33cl bottle. Clear pale orange colour with a thin persistent white head. Malts, caramel and grassy hops in the aroma. Average carbonation and medium body. Taste is more sweet that bitter, very long and with some dry, slightly astringent finish. Overall, a nice brew but not my kind. A bit too sweet for me.
