Triple d’Anvers is the brewery’s homage to its native Antwerp. A full-bodied triple, which is easy to drink. It is a top-fermented beer, with a blonde to light amber colour. The fruity flavour and the subtle interaction between Pale malt and Caramel malt. No spices were added. A delicious symphony of malts and Saaz hops. Slightly sweet start striking a nice balance between hop-bitter and fruitiness. A fresh sparkling beer thanks to the refermentation in the bottle.

Bought a bottle at Bert’s Bierhuis in Utrecht. The beer has a light blonde color and a small white head, CO2 level is average. In the aroma tones of herbs and fruits (a little citrus like). The taste starts dry, fresh, a little creamy and a sparkling character by the fermentation. The finish is long and dry with light bitters. Not a very special tripel, I know better ones.

Een van de mindere tripels in België, dan zijn er een pak betere te vinden op de markt.

33cl bottle. Clear pale orange colour with a thin persistent white head. Malts, caramel and grassy hops in the aroma. Average carbonation and medium body. Taste is more sweet that bitter, very long and with some dry, slightly astringent finish. Overall, a nice brew but not my kind. A bit too sweet for me.

UPDATED: AUG 13, 2014 Salty, malts and fresh with a dry edge. Interesting but not really my thing... i don’t like the aftertaste.

Bottle 33cl. Dark yellow beer with a clear white top that stays in a reduced form. Taste is not too complex; reminds me of pilsner. Easy drinker. Aroma has some sweetness.

A golden ale with a thick frothy off white head. In aroma, lightly maderized sweet malt with honey notes, faint perfumy character, so-so, oxidized? In mouth, lightly cloying, sweet honey malt, alcohol warmth, faint curacao.. Did this suffer during shipping. Bottle from Bodega de chema.

Pours a hazy yellow. Aroma is malty and fruity. Taste follows the nose and finishes slightly bitter.

Bottle @ home. Aroma is fruity yeast, some malt notes, a touch of something spice like. Flavour is quite sweet for a tripel with some spices and floral hops. okay.

330 ml bottle bought at Belgian Beer International in Tsuen Wan.

Cloudy hazy dull amber orange colour with a thin hard crust of yeast sediments; Three-quarter finger head and crumpety off-white foam which lasts for 2 minutes; Excellent sticky lacing with quite fizzy carbonation; Fragrant and sweet aroma of malt, with strong honey, orange, raisins, light plums, banana, light vanilla, caramel, sugar, light alcohol, light phenolic and strong Bel yeast; Medium sweet taste of malt, with strong tartness, orange pulps and zest, faint raisins, strong phenolic, molasses notes, very light alcohol, light Bel yeast, lemon and very light bitter grassy hops; Medium body. Thick and oily palate; Mouth feel is pretty heavy, strong tartness and estery orange wrapped in a thick, oily and high carbo body. Very phenolic but that doesn’t translate onto any testable spicyness or earthyness. Dark fruit, booze and sweet tastes are very light, low yeastiness. Hmmm… Hoppiness is no nose, lemon and light grass taste. Bitterness is typical Tripel’s feathery touch, testable, very light for a lasting bitter-phenolic semi finish; Fairly dry after taste. Phenolic and quite sluggish to mouth.

Comments: This one has promising aroma - honey with a good touch of raisins, but its taste is sluggish and phenol-heavy which is ultimately empty. It seems to promise much but delivers little. A half-decent BSA it maybe, passable Tripel it isn’t. Once is enough.

Bottle 33cl. Clear amber color (later cloudy with yeast floaties), small frothy off-white head, disappears quickly, some lacing; aroma sweet malty, with caramel, bread, floral and citrus hops, honey, vanilla, pear, yeasty; medium sweetness, lightly bitter, bit spicy, bit flat; full body, oily texture, soft carbonation, peppery tongue; finish rather sweet, mild bitterness, spicy notes.
