Bottle to taster (shared by brew3crew). Looks good; a slightly hazy orange with eggshell lacing. Smells and tastes of Belgian yeast and hops with a nice, smooth mouthfeel. A nice example of the style that has held up quite well for being 16 months or so old.

22 oz. bottle via local in-person trade. Thanks, Tiffany! Late 2012 release, so hopefully this "Double Belgian" IPA has held up well. Pours a semi-cloudy golden orange, clear gold at the bottom where the glass is thinner, and more orange and hazy toward the top. Small, just off-white head settles unevenly. Aroma of caramel malts, mango, papaya, straw, tangerine, and raisins. Flavor of sweet and caramel malts, tangerine, apricot, mango, papaya, pineapple, and grapes. Medium-bodied, with a vinous, fruity, resinous mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Big and juicy. The body has held up and the hops have gone totally to the fruit side of things. I enjoyed this and would have been interested to try it fresh and see how it began.

Poured from 750 ml bottle purchased at The Party Source, tasted on January 5, 2013. Light to medium orange/amber color, medium white head, good bittersweet aroma with citrus elements--most notably orange, very sweet taste with some orange flavor, not a lot of hop bitterness but very astringent toward the finish which results in a significantly lower grade. Not a bad brew by any means but disappointing.

Pours a hazy straw color with a small white head. Aroma of light fruit, some yeast and light hops. Flavor is very sweet fruit, light hops and very faint grain. Interesting tasting beer.

Thanks to Rogueone for sharing a bottle. The beer pours a hazy amber color with a medium light beige head that diminishes steadily. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt, yeast and hops. Full-bodied with a very sweet character of sugary fruits, yeast and malt. The finish is sweet with a lingering citrus and yeast aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bottle. Poured a hazy reddidh amber color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy sweet fruit, yeast and small citrus hop aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth thick texture and soft carbonation. Medium complex fruit sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations where exceeded.

This was picked up at the Party Source outside Cincinnati. I’ve not tried either brewery so of all the choices this seemed the best. It was excellent although by now I would be wary of the freshness.

Aroma / Appearance - The glassy bronze base radiated with warmth. About half the light was absorbed like a dying sunset. A thick head lasted a while before settling down. Cotton candy, grapefruit, candi sugar, and waxed hardwood floors simultaneously bitter and sweeten the air.

Flavor / Palate - The concentrated cotton candy soon unfolds on the back of the throat. Afterwards comes a wave of honey, melons, mangoes, and sweet malts. The tang of the hop driven finish anchors this well. This was a complete surprise from completely out of left field.

Fruity hoppy smell but I don’t get hops in the taste. Label says it’s a Belgian Style DIPA but it tastes more like a Belgian Blonde double or maybe a trippel. I like it, but I was hoping for more of the hop profile to shine through on this one.

On tap. Belgian yeasty, mild-hoppy nose. Sweet taste. Caramel, butterscotch, cough drop, some warmth. Mildly hazy golden / orange color, good off-white head, leaving plenty thick lace. Passion fruit, light grapefruit hops. Big, thicker body, but not too syrupy or sticky - manages to still be smooth, kind of creamy, actually. Actually, some orange - creme flavor in there, too. As far as Belgian-style DIPAs go, this one is leaning more to the Belgian side to IPA, but it’s funky, even for a Belgian. There’s a sweet taste, with a weird bitter bite that can’t be intentional... Something certainly feels off about this. "Interesting" is a nice way to put it.
