UPDATED: MAR 5, 2011 Tasting notes from 2002 Harbury Beer Festival. Rich copper and cloudy. Fruit, mild hops and malt aromas...very pleasant. Great balance of malt and hops. Excellent session beer and fun to drink.

Cask conditioned at The Railway Tavern, Alton. Copper with white head. Quite a tangy hoppy beer with a rusk biscuit body, some fruitiness, quite odd but reasonably drinkable.

Cask conditioned @ Hants Bowman, Dundridge. Cloudy copper colour. Doughy yeast, with malt and fruity aroma. Well balanced with a bitter finish. Not the light floral perfumed beer that the name led me to expect but pleasant all the same.

Cask gravity, The Crown Summer BF 09, Nuneaton. Headless iced tea looks. Unassertive apple, sultana and sappy dandelion aroma. Soft grassy hop, bread and biscuit with a bitter soapy linger softened with digestives. OK but nothing I’d rush back to.

Cask @ Black Door, Helsinki. Amber-coloured with a dense off-white head. Aroma of some fruits, mainly apricot, and malt. Floral flavour with the malt and apricots present. Hint of caramel malt with somewhat roasted character. Hoppy bitterness in the finish. Not bad, but not one of the best, either.
