2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 maeib (7542) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - JUL 28, 2012
Cask conditioned handpump Slug & Lettuce Leicester 20/07/12. A golden beer with a whitish head and lacing. Phenolic harshness in the mouth. It seems to be aiming for crisp bitterness but doesn’t get there. It’s similar in the nose but less harsh and better grassy bitterness. Probably not 100% as intended.

Cask @ Black Door, Helsinki. Amber-coloured with a dense off-white head. Aroma of some fruits, mainly apricot, and malt. Floral flavour with the malt and apricots present. Hint of caramel malt with somewhat roasted character. Hoppy bitterness in the finish. Not bad, but not one of the best, either.

Cask conditioned at The Railway Tavern, Alton. Copper with white head. Quite a tangy hoppy beer with a rusk biscuit body, some fruitiness, quite odd but reasonably drinkable.
2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 RichardW (1155) - Carlisle, Cumbria, ENGLAND - JUL 15, 2009
Cask, Pennyblacks, Birmingham UK. Pale, more grapefruit aroma than lemon, I thought, sharp, zingy, hoppy and fruity. Not bad, but nothing outstanding.

Cask gravity, The Crown Summer BF 09, Nuneaton. Headless iced tea looks. Unassertive apple, sultana and sappy dandelion aroma. Soft grassy hop, bread and biscuit with a bitter soapy linger softened with digestives. OK but nothing I’d rush back to.
