Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20101228]

Cask Conditioned handpump Eastgate Northampton. A golden beer with a white head and good lacing. Nice citrussy notes throughout. Oranges and grapefruit to the fore. A good malt backbone. Late hops are excellent. Really tasty and well brewed.

Cask at The Weeping Ash (JDW), St Neots, Cambridgeshire. Amber with a small white head. Slow developing faint sweet malt aroma. Slight sourness in the taste, but the main flavour is sweet. Some bitterness. This was unsubtle but highly drinkable, and I enjoyed it.

UPDATED: FEB 20, 2011 Cask @ The Sir John Moore. Biscuit malt aroma. Amber brown colour. Toffee caramel malt flavour. Quite smooth. Named after a great song. Pity the beer doesn’t come up to the same standard.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 15/02/2011. Amber with a slight, off-white head. Fruity, slightly sweet aroma with some orange hop and earthy malts. Flavour caramel and red fruits, with a slight nuttiness and decent, bitter finish with a bit of a hop kick. Good.

Gravity cask at the Bree Louise. Pours a clear, dark copper with no head. Holds a malty, fruity aroma with ripened plums, cherries and raisins. Really has a great flavor, better than I expected. Tons of fruit, like those in the nose plus grapes and oranges, with subtle bread notes and faint, citrusy and leafy hops. Medium to full in body with just the slightest hint of carbonation. Finishes medium sweet with slight warmth, lots of fruits, mild stickiness, mild alcohol. Overall a tasty beer.
