A powerful, very well balanced stout. Rich roasted malt give a chocolate and coffee flavour, which leads to a dry roasted bitter finish.

Cask @ Victoria Station ’spoonies. The pour’s deep brown with a discreet off-white head. Very lively looking. The nose is rich chocolate milk, bright brown sugar sweetness. A bit of earthy ash and roasted malts to keep it honest. The taste is very sweet - loads of chocolate cake. Hints of lactose and cream. Light vanilla fudge. Just a hint of singed grass on the finish. Medium body, decently structured. Overall, a tasty beverage. Flavorful stuff.

Cask at the William Webb Ellis (JDW), Twickenham - 12/01/13. Mid black with a good tan head that retains well. Decent lacing ensues. Nose is roast malts, chocolate, vanilla, molasses. Taste comprises roast malts, dark sugars, dark fruits evident, chocolate, molasses. Medium bodied with a slightly oily texture, moderate carbonation, dry finish. Decent - I enjoyed this one!

Cask at Blackdoor, Helsinki. Pours dark brown in color with tan head. Roasted malts, some milk chocolate in aroma. Nice. Flavour has mostly some roasted coffee with slight bitter finish, even a bit of herbal/spicynotes in aftertaste. Good, tasty real ale.

Craft Clerkenwell. Almost opaque dark brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is softish and semi dry. Nice Praline vibe here - mild chocolate and hazlenuts. Tiny bit of lactose and dark fruits. Neutral to semi dry finish. Very drinkable.

500ml bottle (Black Door, Helsinki) - Bottle conditioned, and 6.8%
Basically black, with a tight spongy head. Cakey creamy chocolate mocha aroma. So cakey in the taste too. Some apple sharpness in the aroma too. Full and smooth palate. Soft carbonation. Drinkability high, covers the 6.8% well. Rich and smooth - definitely worth remembering.
Top tip - mix a small bit of Thornbridge Chiron into this, and it’ll blow your mind, as the only thing this is lacking is aromatic hops.

Black body, light brown head. Deep red hue. Aroma has rich roasted malty with overwhelming ashy notes. Sweet though. Liqourice, roasted malt, some coffee and bit sweet. Some alcohol in finish. Bit spicy feeling afterwards, cinnamon apple? How do I get this one?
