Cask Conditioned, at the GBBF, 2004. Fruity light mild. Rather lovely fruity flavour but ever so light in colour and flavour.

Cask conditioned - no sparkler - Malt Shovel Northampton. A very dark beer; almost black with a hint of red. The aroma is like sour chocolate as is the taste. The alcohol comes through very strongly and it is hard to believe it is only 3.8%. Not a typical mild but a good drink

[Cask conditioned] Very dark brown coloured. Very mild and very malty. A classic mild ale with a very funny name.

Cask conditioned @ Railway Arms. A farmers bag of wild hedgerow fruits ripe for the plucking and dark as a smuggler’s cave. A blessing in disguise.

Cask conditioned @ Railway Arms, Alton. Fruity, roast, malt and toffee aroma. Dry body with some coffee. Excellent mild but I couldnt really appreciate it on the hottest day of 2004 so foar.

Very dark colour and full bodied for a mild - I wasn't sure whether this was supposed to be a mild or a stout. The slightly bitter finish reinforced this. Whatever it is, I thought it was very appealing and, if it is a mild, it is certainly my type of mild. Handpump, The Crosse Keys, City of London, March 2003

Dark, dark red in colour. This has a winter fruit, vineous aroma. Flavours are juicy, fruity malts, the finish is dry and moresish. Mmmm.

Quite nice. Light chocolate and caramel flavours as you'd expect in a mild, with a touch of late roastyness (as i also expect in the darker milds). Some light hop bitterness at the end. Simple and enjoyable (Cask KentBF 03')
