4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Enjoyed this one on draught at the brewpub/ale house in Berkley, CA back in July of this year. For those who do not know, Triple Rock is one of the five original brewpubs in the US, and over the years it has remained an excellent one. Bug Juice is a great example of American Pale Ale, with lots of good hop aroma, flavor, and bitterness. This beer pours to a bright orange color, with a creamy white head, and a moderate carbonation. The nose on this beer is very nice, with good citrus/grape fruit aromas. The palate is firm, with good pale malt flavors, with hints of carmel, and touches of estery fruit. This beer finishes with more good pale malt flavor up front, then ends with some good citrus and tangy hop bitterness that lingers. I well done APA with good hop bite, but not so much bitterenss, allowing you to have a session with this one. It was a great match with the Buffalo wings, and the chili on the Triple Rock menu. Well worth trying if you find yourself in Berkley, CA.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught at the brewpub. Clear orange color with white head that laced the glass. Fruity aroma, mostly citrus, but also light pear. A little bitter on the tongue with flavors of caramel, grapefruity hops, and grass. Tastes as enticing as its name.
