COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A rich golden color, distinct hop bouquet, and malty finish are just a few of the complex characteristics of this very popular brew. Dry hopped with cascade, you can’t have just one!

UPDATED: MAR 25, 2008 On tap at Triple Rock. Good beer with a balance of hop and malty textures. Balanced rather well and easy to drink. I like it and might go back there tonight:))

Big hop aroma- mostly pine, some citrus fruit - along with a bit of toffeeish malt. Flavor is very well-balanced. Full malty palate with resiny hops. Long lingering bitterness. Great IPA.

This stuff is pure nectar. Pours a golden hazy dewey color. Head foams white with traces of biscuit and quickly dies. Flavor is strong, but not aggressive. Pine with citrus hits you - but it fades into a woody post-aftertaste.

As IPAX on draft at the brewpub. Citrus/pine aroma - mostly grapefruit. Amber color with a decent white head. Medium body with mild carbonation that has a bit of a nip. Grapefruit flavor over caramel. Dry finish with a lot of nice bitter. Nice drink.

Draught @ Brouwer’s Café: Deep amber, copperish, thin spritzy white head, spotty lacing, moderately carbonated.   Bright hoppy nose, some floral, smells juicy.   Fairly well hopped on the tongue, slightly biting, long lingering bitterness, but not backed by enough malts.   Flavorful, but could stand to a bit more sticky sweet.   I would call this a 1 1/2 IPA.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Would make for a great IPA, but as an IIPA I would say its fairly good.

On tap at the Triple Rock in Berkeley, CA. This beer is being called “IPEX.” It pours a hazy gold with an off white head. Nice lacing. There is a sweet malt aroma punctuated by mild grapefruit hops. Delicious. The taste has a quick burst of sweet maltiness that gets consumed by both sweet grapefruit hop flavor and grapefruit hop bitterness. Nice balance creating a refreshing IPA brew.

I really liked this one. Very bold, plenty of hop flavor and a good balance of malt. Seems like a pretty high IBU level to me. Dark golden color, good carbonation, lots of Cascade hop flavor comes through.

Draught at the brewpub. Hazy reddish-orange color with white head. Citrusy, flowery hop aroma. Adequate bitterness with rich spruce and citrus flavors supported by an earthy malt accent. Good IPA.
