3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught at Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen
Hazy red-copper color; creamy head. Aroma of caramel; and... Is that crystal malt? Very American style, with sweetness and a biscuity trace too; followed by some fruity hops. Medium body strength, with caramel flavor, a mild biscuity trace, some sweetness; all this tends to be overwhelming; the late flavor or final seems to bring a light sourness that is not appreciated; there is also some fruitiness. It doesn’t have a distinctive character; it’s not bad, but it’s quite messy, confused, or understated.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught at Mikkeller Bar. Copper with an off-white disappearing head. Caramel, butterscotch, pine, grapefruit, peach and herbal hops in the nose. The taste is toasted caramel sweetness which is balanced with a piney, herbal hop bitterness. Texture is almost thick, syrupy, low carbonation. Teddybear-like take on an IPA.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at City Beer, SF, with my sis. Nice pour, potent looking amber, along the lines of many other Mikkeller IPAs. Huge, huge nose of mango, peach, pine, and herb, quite inviting. Mouthfeel initially a tad slick but proves to be fairly abundant, with a long bitter finish that evokes the more resinous ends of the flavor spectrum. Tons of dank hops and tropical fruits to taste, with enough malts to balance. Enjoyed this a bunch.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A - Served a clear copper-orange color with a finger of frothy slightly off-white head atop. The head fades down at a normal pace leaving behind some nice lacing.
S - Aroma is full of citrus hops with lots of topical fruit notes alongside. There is a bit of sweet caramel and bready malts mixed in the background.
T - Starts off with some light caramel malts and lots of tropical and citrus hop flavor. There is some good bitterness as well right from the start. Through the middle, the bitterness grows a bit more with a bit of pine hop coming through, as well as some deeper bready malts. The finish is a mix of caramel and bready malts with plenty of hops and bitterness lingering.
M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a nice dry and crisp finish from all the hops.
D - Very drinkable. Very hoppy, but it also has decent balance. There is a big bitter kick from all the hops, bit the malt is there enough to keep it form being a hop bomb.
