A - Served a dark black with a touch of brown mixed in and a half-finger of frothy chocolate head. The head fades fairly quickly leaving a touch of lace behind. S - The aroma is a mix of roasted and slightly burnt chocolate malt with a bit of sweet lactose and sweet caramel. There is also a touch of dark fruit. T - Starts off with some roasted and burnt chocolate and caramel malts with light milk sweetness and dark fruits. Through the middle some richer chocolate flavor comes though alongside some light coffee flavor. The finish is a mix of burnt malts, with some light sweetness and a touch of earthy hop. M - Medium full bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a dry and sweet finish. D - Very drinkable. Really nice malt flavor with some some nice roasted and burnt flavors. Nice and big porter.

On tap at the Brewpub and Beer Revolution. Pours with a black body and a small tan head that stays. Aromas of brown sugar, lactose, milk chocolate, cola and dark fruits. Flavors of chocolate, light smoke, roast, cocoa powder, milk chocolate and some dark fruit esters. Medium bubbles and very viscous. Some residual sweetness.

Tap at the brewpub. Pours dark brown/black with a creamy tan head. Light smokey dark malt aroma. Med + body. Flavor is smokey dark malt - and it’s just on the sweet side. Touch of sweet darkish fruit, but it’s not too sweet tho. Drinks nicely. Complemented salmon. Touch of coffee in finish.

On draft at the brewpub. It pours dark brown with a tan disappearing head. The aroma has lots of licorice, some roast and some fruity notes of raisins and plums. The flavor is fruity sweet, kind of like a dopplebock but with heavy notes of chocolate and roasted malt. There’s some minor lager yeast esters in play too, which makes me think this is more of a traditional example of a Baltic porter. It has a nice full mouthfeel with a crispness/spiciness to the finish. Good beer.

Draft. Dark mahogony beer with a dark cream colored head. Toffee aroma. Toffee and dark fruit flavor with sweet malt. Medium-plus bodied. Toffee and raisin lingers with dark fruits and light caramel.
