Poured into an English Pint. Color is medium amber with a cream colored head. Aroma is very sugary with a hint of hops (grapefruit). Taste is sweeter than expected with an unusual butterscotch and earthy flavor and some spicier hop notes towards the finish. Medium bodied with a slightly sticky and astringent mouthfeel. Overall a very odd take on an IIPA.

Aged in oak? Very sharp flavor. It must have been virgin oak or oak chips. I taste no other liquor. Which makes it a hoppy oak beer. I am going to give this beer a break because of itís uniqueness. Aroma is in your face bitter no doubt pushed by the oak. Unfortunately the complexity is lacking. To sum it up the beer is pretty harsh. For only hoppy bitter barrel guys.

1.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Pours golden orange with a small white head. The nose is orange and dusty wooden shelves, with some sweet pastry mixed in. The taste is horrible. It literally reminds me of the vomit aftertaste. Itís so unbalanced on the sweet side itís sickening. The texture is not where near and ipa, soft as can be. Body is heavy and finish is fortunately, short. The drain can drink the rest of this 22 oz waste.

1.4 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Pours a nice shade of amber gold. Transparent, no haze apparent. Big off-white head. Good lacing and retention. Nice looking beer.
Absolutely reeks of diacetyl. Probably the most that Iíve ever smelled in a beer. Every time that I move the glass, it smells like someone squirted some movie theater butter flavoring. I donít mean to be harsh, but the aroma dominates the beer. Thereís some hops, but itís hard to identify the notes underneath the butter. My guess would be grapefruit, grass and herbal spice. Unfortunately, theyíre way in the background. Thereís also a little booze, oak and some vanilla. Rough.
The taste is sweet and buttery with a blandly bitter, buttery hop finish. Itís slightly better than the aroma but still quite bad. Thereís some biscuity malt and a light tannic note. A little more vanilla and oak. Even when I try to put the aroma completely out of my mind, itís still too sweet, lacks hop delicacy and tastes like artificial butter. Not much to like.
Feel is fine, but itís a bit hop harsh and boozy in the finish. It does get a little watery in the middle, and thereís a touch of hop slickness. Also, the diacetyl makes my palate feel funny as I drink. Not sure what thatís about.
Probably the worst DIPA that Iíve ever tried.

Pours a very nice deep golden. Nose is pineapple, ripe peach, resin, caramel. Taste is apple, caramel, some herbs, resin and peach. Very nice aftertaste, balanced well between lingering tropical fruit and bitterness.

1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
Bottle. Pours with a hazed bronze hued body with a medium sized off-white head with some lace. Aroma... Probably the most diacetyl that I have smelled in a commercially produced beer in the last 9 months. Butterscotch, vanilla pudding, maple, and butter...yeah, just as appealing as it sounds in your 9% IPA. Flavors confirm that this will be a drain pour. Butter and Aunt Jemimah with citrus zest and more fake maple syrup. Sickly levels of diacetyl. Lively carbonation and slightly oily. 20 of the 22oz Poured down the drain. I honestly hope this is a packaging issue and they sort it out ASAP. More than willing to re-rate, but this was foul!

Aroma of herbs, spices and hops. Pure golden color with a large foam. Basic flavors of biscuit, yeast and hops. Overall, very yeasty with some biscuit and bread undertones. Iíd give this a C rating.
