A heavily hopped beer brewed using home-baked malt. Triporteur From Heaven is the modern version of traditional hopped Belgian ale. It is a heavenly beer brewed with home-baked BOM malt.

This is a wonderful delightful beer. The brewer, and owner, Bert Van Hecke rigged an old coffee roaster and makes his malt for his Heaven and Hell beers by roasting white malt in this contraption. This beer is awesome, and fresh. It’s hop balance is much more to an American ipa crowd’s liking. Van Hecke has the creds as he came from St. Bernardus where he was the master brewer.

Top from heaven ...

10 oz tap pour at Town Hall tap. Appearance is golden with a decent amount of head/lacing. Aroma is piney and refreshing which serves as the prefect precursor to the forthcoming taste. This one is incredibly easy to drink and has a great finish. Refreshing, clean, and crisp. Highly recommended.

Appearance: clear light gold, with one finger of creamy white head quickly shrinking to minimal cap and lace; pours are successively more cloudy toward the bottom of the 750. Aroma: beautiful aroma, full of freshly baked white bread, pie crust and crackers; tons of very juicy, fruity hops cascade through next, then a hint of yeasty, peppery spice. Taste: toasted bread with a dab of honey butter, grapefruit and light pineapple, toasted coriander (maybe some fennel?), then a crackery, almost popcorn-like note on the back end. Finish: the dry hopping is evident on the back end, as the lively, almost sharp palate dries out nicely to citrusy, lightly grassy notes that withhold bitterness, and the delightful malt backbone holds strong. Notes: This was a simply tremendous beer. Very interesting to learn about the in-house malting done with this brew, and there was definitely something special about the malt character of this beer. The hops were perfectly applied. Not a bitter bomb at all, but heavily dry-hopped to perfection. I’m a huge fan. Bottle from the Rare Beer Club.

Interesting brew. Upon opening with a modest "pop", I had a blast of caramel aroma, however from the glass, I get mostly yeast, bread dough, and fresh grain. Appearance is a long lasting, very frothy, off-white head, lots of lace and a moderately hazy gold amber color. Flavor’s like nose, sweet up front, plenty of carbonic tang, just enough bitter, slight metallic. Initially I thought too sweet, however; now I find it much more drinkable. Body is very good. I could drink some more a this no problemo.

One of my favourites. The brewer (Bart Vanhecke) is a grandmaster of malt and hopselect.

Bedankt Kraddel – 33 cl. fles gedeeld. Helder gouden met een solide witte kraag. Ruikt naar hooi, witte peper, BE bijna Ranke of De La Senne stijl hop, veel kruiden en zomerse velden. Smaak is bittere volle esters, zelfde Be hop, mooie gras toets, veel hooi, citroen toets, ferm bittere einde met wat bittere peper. Lichtjes wazige mondgevoel.

Bottle from Slowbeer. Nice balance, malty and yeasty. Aromas of caramel, grain, citrus, and bread. Taste is sweet, with light sourness, and long length. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Dark yellow, with a frothy head.

Hazy golden body with stable white fluffy head. Smooth aroma with grassy and orangey hops, white bread malts and a clear yeast, perhaps a farmhouse one. Very nice bitterness, spot on carbonation and smooth drinkability still. Really nice hop mix. Did not expect this at all! Surprisingly good, Drinkable and modern brew. Recommended! (33cl bottle from Bierparadijs)
