bonkiedeaap (379) - Leerdam, NETHERLANDS - MAR 29, 2015
Bottle from Dranken Verheyen in Poppel. The beer is hazy golden blonde colored and pours a large white head, with livingly CO2. The aroma is very fruity/floral by the use of hops, light biscuit smell and citrus. Pleasantly tangy, slightly bitter but not overdone. Light sweet aftertaste, use is made of white and dark candy sugar in the brewing process. Resounding and well drinkable.

Bottle. A clear, golden beer with a small, off-white head. The aroma is fruity, in a Belgian style, with grass and a herbal touch. Popcorn hints, not diacetyl though. It’s quite dry on the palate, with a pleasant carbonation level. Pale malts, orange notes and herbs. Pleasant bitterness. Overall, sure drinkable, but rather boring. 150328

Bottle. Thanks to KL. Light sugary fruit aromas, freshly baked bread, earthy, and yeasty. Light pale straw. Gentle fruit initial, light citrus, sort of flat in final. Thin body, and a bit fizzy. Okay. Complex aromas, rather weak flavors.

Bottle from Kiya. Tart, slightly acidic nose, some bread and honey, grapefruit. I would guess that the beer has soured unintentionally a bit, though that does work kind of well with the hops. Tart grapefruit flavor, light malt, bit of honey. Ok blonde.

Interesting brew. Upon opening with a modest "pop", I had a blast of caramel aroma, however from the glass, I get mostly yeast, bread dough, and fresh grain. Appearance is a long lasting, very frothy, off-white head, lots of lace and a moderately hazy gold amber color. Flavor’s like nose, sweet up front, plenty of carbonic tang, just enough bitter, slight metallic. Initially I thought too sweet, however; now I find it much more drinkable. Body is very good. I could drink some more a this no problemo.
