3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Yeast laden aroma of brown sugar and chocolate. Dark brown color, plenty of lacy foam. Taste is not the dubbel style I expected; instead only a mild sweetness, followed by a starchy burnt coffee finish...still not exactly hellish. Medium body, nice Belgian brown ale.

330mp bottle from Archive Beer Boutique. There is nothing hellish about this brew. Great aroma of chocolate, burnt and bitter. Looks good with a dark brown colour and tan head. All round awesomeness.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark chocolate brown with a large loosely packed head.
Light aroma, milk chocolate, light esters, banana and raisin.
Fairly carbonated, big chocolate and candied sugar flavours. A good dose of doughy malts, banana bread, stone fruits and mild liqour.
The finish is nice and sweet, a nice hint of hop spice and toasted malt.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours opaque dark brown with a medium tan head. Aroma has slightly sweet fig and prune. Flavor follows suit and adds a really nice layer of peaty/smokiness that cuts through the sweetness of the dark fruits. Mouthfeel is light and the finish is lightly peaty dark fruits.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
From 330 ml bottle. Pours a dark brown with red highlights at the edge and a small but persisting white head. Aromas of chocolate, currants, spices, coffee and a little baked apple. Taste starts out with cocoa nibs, before dark fruit (raisins, stewed plum) comes in, followed by a black coffee like bitterness. Sweet caramel at the finish, with a spicy aftertaste. A bit like a dubbel with pronounced porter characteristics.
