Pours jet black with off-white head. Faint roasted coffee aroma. Body is thin, fizzy, and acidic. Far too many better options out there.

8 July 2015, bottle. black. nose is burnt toast and the faintest of olive (?). perhaps that is a earthy aroma instead. med/thin body and moderately fizzy. the malt is very toasted/burnt which really seems to give it olive off flavors. i donít think this is an infection, i just think the result of the dark toasted malt and frequent acidic component of stouts somehow created the illusion of olives. trying to look past that i also taste leather and licorice. still, canít get past the light olive taste.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Near black with a very thin tan head. Light aroma of coffee and sour berry. Bitter roasted flavor with an earthy and slightly sour finish. I suspect the beginning stages of infection. Below average carbonation with creamy texture. Dull and underwhelming. Not a beer I would choose again.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Aroma: Light coffee, waffle cone, Merlot. Appearance: Inky black pour with a bubbly tan head that settles into a patchy ring. Flavor: Coffee up front, but lots of fruity esters- blackberry, for instance. Chocolate is more subtle but ever present. Palate: Medium body, sticky texture, flat carbonation, long finish. Overall: Interesting stout, but not something Iíd continually seek out.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Rated on 5-18-2012 at 800 Degrees Pizza (Fort Wayne, IN) This draft beer has an opaque dark brown body and spotty amounts of lacing. The aroma is roasted malt, coffee and chocolate. The flavor is coffee bitter, roasted malt and chocolate. The mouthfeel is tingly and this beer is medium bodied. This beer is very quaffable and roasted but not overly so. It is worth trying.

From bottle, pours opaque black with a big tan head. Aroma is full of roasted malts and coffee. Taste is roasted malts, but with a sweet tangy quality. Medium mouthfeel.
