3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20 Hartung32 (108) - Indiana, USA - FEB 15, 2013Good stout! It could use more depth of flavor(it would probably barrel-age great like the porter). Very drinkable; and yet another solid beer from my favorite brewer in Indianapolis.

I wasn’t expecting much from this but overall its pretty good! From the start, poured from a bottle, it has a very attractive smell like a marshmello that caught on fire in a campfire, nifty. Pur is a nice as any stout, big black and a handsome brownish head. Tase uis smooth and friendly, very good. I was expecting an impy stout wannah be but this is well reserved and civilized. Yes, quite interesting an fun. Overall nice beer drinking experience. Pleasantly surprised!
3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Sammy (7115) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 21, 2013
Bottle from Champane’s, less than six months old. A serviceable stout. Initially a little musty aroma. Black with virtually no head remaining. A little chalk, roast, chocolate malt. Decent drinkability. Undercarbonated and a bit above average mouthfeel.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 matthewjk (744) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 2, 2013
First try from Triton - Hmmm... not the best in the business here. Lots of toffee and caramel on the nose; oily and wincing on the tongue. Not something I want to encounter in battle again.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Chuckaduck (507) - Kentucky, USA - APR 8, 2013
Bottle. 4/8/13. Pours opaque brown-black with a very thin brown head. Aroma is bread, chocolate, vanilla, fruit, molasses, sweetness (toffee?), hint of coffee. Taste is creamy, chocolate, fruit (berries, grapes), hint of alcohol, roasty; finish is slightly bitter, light coffee flavor. Well-balanced. Some lacing. Creamy, medium-full bodied mouth feel. Medium-low carbonation. Nice, drinkable, acceptable. At the 5.5 ABV, it’s almost sessionable. Wouldn’t write home about it, but I’d order a couple in a bar.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 DrSilverworm (2962) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - APR 7, 2013
12oz bottle, shared. Thanks to radarsock. Very dark brown, but still clear color, around the edges. Good, thin lighter brown head, little lace. Impressive nose - big roasty malt and dark fruit. Nice big flavor, good dark chocolate and roast malts. Light coffee in the finish. Flavor like a 7% stout. Medium body. Kind of creamy, good crisp carbonation. Nice big bitterness. Very solid stout.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 b3shine (2453) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - APR 7, 2013
Bottle to snifter (thanks DrSilverworm). Looks solid; a fairly opaque black with thin beige lacing. Smells solid too; roasty and malty. Tastes like it smells with a nice, dry mouthfeel. Solid beer.
3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jhp40219 (148) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - MAR 25, 2013
12 oz bottle poured into a standard pint glass. Pours black with a one finger tan head that fades into a ring of bubbles and leaves a decent amount of lacing. Mouth watering aroma of chocolate, coffee and roasted malts. Bitter hops and roasted malts dominate the taste. The hop bitterness is surprising. Did not expect that at all from the nose. Slight hint of toffee after it warms on the tongue. Long finish of even more bitter hops and raosty matls. Full bodied but a little on the thin side for a stout, sticky and creamy texture, average carbonation. Interesting stout in that the hops come through so strong, almost to the point of tasting like a Black IPA. Not a bad thing by any means and a nice change of pace from the average stouts. Overall a very enjoyable stout that I’d go so far as to call crisp tasting. Something I don’t think I have ever said about a stout before.

Bottle. Thanks josh. Pours black thin tan head. Smokey toasted aroma. Taste is slight tangy fruit maybe going south. Some roasted chocolate too
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 dmac (3219) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - MAR 21, 2013
12oz bottle via trade. Poured a thick dense black body with an average/large dark beige thick foamy head. Initial aroma was dark roasted smelts with some burnt toffee/vanilla sweetness. After breathing some burnt toast, lactose, oats and some light touches of sweet chocolate syrup. Medium bodied with rather soft carbonation and a quicker finish on the aftertaste. Started off great but flavor and aroma faded while it sat in my glass.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 BlackIPA (749) - Rochester, New York, USA - MAR 13, 2013
Pours a pretty deep billy dee brown with a nicely sized tan head that lasts for a while. Aromas of roast and perhaps a touch of powdery cocoa and instant coffee. Taste is similar - lightly roasted coffee, hazelnut, some cocoa powder. Average carbonation, pretty thin mouthfeel. Decent at best.
