COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our flagship beer, and a true example of the style, the Railsplitter India Pale Ale (IPA) is a fresh golden brew with noticeable citrus and floral aromas balanced on a nice malty backbone with a dry finish.

Draft. Poured clear dark copper color with an average fizzy white head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate citrus floral hop aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Moderate bitter flavor with a moderate bitter finish of medium duration. Good brew.

Bottle... Sparkling clear orange/amber ale with a mid-sized, frothy, off-white head. Good retention. The bouquet is a mélange of caramel, sugar cookie and citrusy hops. Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and tickling carbonation. The flavor tilts toward the bitter side of balance, but not by much – cookie sweetness and acrid bitterness are the highlights. Finishes lightly bitter, tongue-numbing and dry.

24 karat sparkling gold pour. White head. Flavor of weak hops, biscuity malt and not much else. Meh.

Sample at Twenty Tap in Indianapolis. This brew pours a clear copper-orange color with a medium ivory white head that diminishes steadily. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrusy hops and malt. Medium body with a moderately bitter hops character and flavors of grapefruit and caramel malt. The finish is is hoppy with a lingering citrus aftertaste. Above average IPA overall.

12oz bottle, shared by Jay. Mostly hazy darker brown color. Thin off-white head, nice spread of dotty lace. Medium-plus body. Lighter more crisp carbonation, dry finish. Nice balance of malts and hops. Good biscuity malt, light on the caramel which is cool. Citrus (orange-rind), some floral hops. Nice moderate bitter taste, light sweet. Solid IPA.

Had some of a friend’s draft pint at Scotty’s Brewhouse in downtown Indianapolis. Pours a clear orange-hued tea color with a small off-white head. Notes of citrus (orange and grapefruit), caramel malts, pine resin, and floral notes. Light-medium bodied, with medium-high carbonation and a bitter, citrusy mouthfeel. Good IPA.

Draft to taster. Looks good; a transparent orange with eggshell head. Smells solid; juicy hops with a well-balanced pale malt backbone. Tastes like it smells with a solid mouthfeel. Enjoyable.

This draft brew from a beer festival poured a small sized head of foam with a frothy top of fine to medium sized white colored bubbles that were quickly diminishing and left behind a very softly carbonated transparent orange colored body and a poor lacing. The aroma was of citrus and hoppy. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of sweet and hops. An OK brew just nothing special.

Backlog rating on 10-27-2012 (Bottle) This beer’s appearance is a small head that mostly diminishes, transparent body and no visible carbonation. The aroma is citrus, floral hops and caramel malt. The flavor is citrus hops, lightly bitter and caramel malt. The mouthfeel is smooth and this IPA is medium bodied. This beer is very quaffable, not overly hoppy tasting and does have a lingering hoppy aftertaste. This beer is worth trying.
