Dickinsonbeer (2466), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Jun 16, 2006 Overall this beer is a bit too light and therefore doesnt pick up much of the buckwheat flavor or characterisics too much. Slight hazy gold with a thin white head. Aroma is herbal and lightly spicy with some earthy hop character. Flavor is crisp and refreshing with light sweet malts, and more earthy dry herbalness to it. Pretty much like your basic american wheat with some light spice to it. mkobes (2014), New York, USA Jun 8, 2006 On tap at Spuyten Duyvil. Light brown in color with a nice long lasting white head. Malty, grainy aroma. Nutty notes. Flavor is light chocolate and grainy. Roasty notes. Light bodied. Very drinkable. Sweet. Finish is malty. Very nice beer. Interesting.
jcwattsrugger (3757), Florida and, New Jersey, USA May 14, 2006 on tap-pours a white head with copper color. Aroma is light malt. Taste is light malt, roasty, nutty, sweet, OK carbonation. Nice occasionally. willblake (1917), Long Branch, New Jersey, USA May 10, 2006 05.10.06 Tap at Princeton. Light brown color, mostly translucent, with a large and lasting froth of stiff tan foam. The aroma os grainy, dry Montana fields, wheat germ, and distant cocoa. The flavor is uniquely herbal and full of fresh and dried grains. Reminds me of a moment sampling raw grains and nuts in the Bozeman co-op. Light bodied and extremely drinkable, the stuff is not at all sweet yet nicely earthy. Light and late notes of weak coffee and toasted whole grain bread. Pretty slick brew that I would’ve been happy to drink all night. Cornboy (409), Eastampton, New Jersey, USA Apr 9, 2006 Very light in color. It has a toasty graininess to it, sweet on the palate up front, but finished slightly bitter. I assume this was directly from the buckwheat/kasha. A refreshing brew, would be perfect for summer months. Somewhere in the 5.5abv range.
