Draft. Pours a copper body with a white head. Very spicy, with pepper tones, bell peppers, spicy rye, ginger root, and more spicy notes. Hot in the sense of spices. Light body and quite quaff able. Good stuff.

12 oz handbottle, via Dickinsonbeer. Pours a clear dark gold under a one finger fizzy white head that faded to a whispy film. Lots of visible carbonation. Aroma is very earthy and fruity with lots of spices. A mix of chilies and ginger mostly, with lighter peppery notes. All combined it has almost a cinnamon smell. Flavor is light bready malt at the core with lots of pepper and chilie coming out on the finish. Some herbal notes as well. Mouthfeel is light bodied and has a nice lively fizzy carbonation level. The chilies lend a very spicy burning sensation long after the finish. Standard Disclaimer: Chilie beers are not for everyone, but I liked this one more than most Iíve had.

A chili beer that had a tremendous amount of bite. You might not like it, but you respect and remember it.

02.06.05 Princeton. Copper pour with ample head leaving islands of foam and plenty of lace - quite a sight. Wow! 1st sniff is mysterious: tomato, mineral, grainy, savory herbs. A strong chile flavor comes through right away and actually burns a bit - wow again! What an exciting and unexpected brew. The pepper burn lingers and yet the underlying maltiness balances it all to a tasty and very quaffable brew. After a few pints, it began to taste like chips and salsa. In many ways, it reminds of a gruit or the old Triumph Gothic ale. I brought home a growler.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
A very different kind of beer, very unique, light copper color, generous soft off-white head, nice lacing around the glass, sweet nose of ginger, coarse black pepper & light malt, medium in body, seems like a regular-olí lager type of beer until the finish, the front was mostly smooth & light malt, but then the finish kicked you in the mouth, thatís where the peppers arrive, tasted of liquid cayenne, gave that abrasive bite associated with spicy food, left a little sting on the lips as well, this is the first beer that Iíve tasted that could actually be brewed with peppers & be drinkable (you know which one Iím talking about!), Iím not sure if the name means anything, but I didnít expect this kind of beer with that kind of name (maybe Iím just dumb), but a very good & enjoyable beer

on tap in Princeton, took a growler home. Clear light amber with medium carbonation. Aroma is of ginger, mild black pepper, light grains and malt. Taste is ginger up front, with some sweet malt, and some dry biscuit malt, which changes near the middle and end of the beer, which is where the chilis come through. A medium amount of heat in the finish that lingers nicely. I personally would have liked more chili peppers in the taste up front, maybe some of that character has diminished since it has been on tap for awhile before I had this.

Iím always skeptical about spicy beer, but this one was a pleasant surprise. Golden-copper color with light head. Sweet aroma that is fairly malty. Taste is quite spicy with lots of pepper and some other sweet malts. Good taste wise, but anything spicy in my glass is always a bit odd. I give Triumph props for trying these brews and in this case, I would say succeeding.

2-12-05 Princeton Pub.... Burnt amber in color with a BIG head and lacing. Very fruity aroma.... Big on the spice flavor... almost a bit herbal. Very peppery in the flavor. The good thing is the maltiness balances the blend out well.. puts the fire out. Great beer.
