WeeHeavySD (2784), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Jun 18, 2009 Tap in Philly. Pours yellow gold with a bright white head. Nose is light and wheaty with some malt. Taste is sweet bitter, hops bit of malt, eh. DSG (1330), Tel Aviv, Israel Jan 25, 2009 (11/10/08) Draught sample at the brewpub in Philadelphia. Slightly hazy golden. Aroma of yeast, vegetables and some light hoppy hints. Flavor has some graininess, some malt and some noble hops bitterness with some grass. Light-bodied. fredandboboflo (1168), East Setauket, New York, USA Jan 15, 2009 Tap at Philly location. Aroma lemony, grainy, doughy. Flavor has rich, earthy grains with a solid bitterness and a sweet, fruity (cherry?) edge as well. A bit harsh on the tongue, either some astringency or some absurdly strong carbonation, but still pretty good. LilBeerDoctor (1291), East Setauket, New York, USA Jan 10, 2009 On tap at the brewpub in Philadelphia. Pours a slightly cloudy cloudy gold with a thick white head. Aroma of raspberries and wheat malt. Flavor of wheat malt with a slightly sweet finish. Sweetness increases with warmth. Crisp and clean. Nice kellerbier.
7/4/7/4/14 (3.6/5) arjoseph (593), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jan 4, 2009 GABF 2007. Nice fluffy and tight head. Subsurface "racing" is incredibly slow and brilliant with tiny bubbles reticent to reach the surface. Smell is very clean and light, effervescent with crisp malts. Very crisp hops are the overwhelming impression, nothing clutters the taste, keeping it clean. Malt presence is just enough to keep it balanced; you don’t notice them, but you don’t notice that their absent, either. Very fresh. Very well-made. Very good. santoslhalper (327), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 30, 2008 Delicious sharp, crisp hop aroma and taste. Very clean and balanced but definitely a step up from your average pils. Lots of complexity without sacrificing drinkability. Possibly my favorite at Triumph. CharlesDarwin (1685), State College, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 18, 2008 On tap at the Philadelphia location. Pours a hazed bright gold, with a finger of good white foam. Rich, intense bready aroma. Fresh, yeasty, oiled and delicious. Bright. This is fuckin’ delicious. Fresh pilsner malt, bright yeast character, grassy vibrant hop character and clean. Oh man. This how all pilsener should be. Finishes with a mingling of honey malt sweetness and delicate hop perfume. Wow. A stunning example. blipp (1407), Grand Island, New York, USA Jun 4, 2008 Draft. Pours gold with a white head. Light malt aroma, a bit of grass. Medium body. Flavor is the same as the aroma and has a nice bitter finish. Not bad.
