Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA Mar 3, 2008 My favorite beer at the Philly Craft Beer Fest. Plenty of head retention, with a smooth body. Lightly sweet, tasty, fresh hops and a long finish. Both refreshing and tasty. santos999 (318), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 30, 2008 Delicious sharp, crisp hop aroma and taste. Very clean and balanced but definitely a step up from your average pils. Lots of complexity without sacrificing drinkability. Possibly my favorite at Triumph. CharlesDarwin (1824), Point Judith, Rhode Island, USA Nov 18, 2008 On tap at the Philadelphia location. Pours a hazed bright gold, with a finger of good white foam. Rich, intense bready aroma. Fresh, yeasty, oiled and delicious. Bright. This is fuckin’ delicious. Fresh pilsner malt, bright yeast character, grassy vibrant hop character and clean. Oh man. This how all pilsener should be. Finishes with a mingling of honey malt sweetness and delicate hop perfume. Wow. A stunning example. arjoseph (594), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jan 4, 2009 GABF 2007. Nice fluffy and tight head. Subsurface "racing" is incredibly slow and brilliant with tiny bubbles reticent to reach the surface. Smell is very clean and light, effervescent with crisp malts. Very crisp hops are the overwhelming impression, nothing clutters the taste, keeping it clean. Malt presence is just enough to keep it balanced; you don’t notice them, but you don’t notice that their absent, either. Very fresh. Very well-made. Very good. Dickinsonbeer (3434), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Jan 1, 2007 Updated: Apr 7, 2007Updated scores from pint at Philly. Multiple samples on tap at KSBF 06. Pours a slight chill or yeast haze, deep gold with a nice fluffy lasting pure white head with kickass lacing. Aroma is toasty and bready fresh pils malts, and a light earthy spicy hop note. Great full doughy flavor yet remains crisp and easy drinking- fresh pils malts- doughy and almost like a marshmallow sweetness- nice biting spicy noble hip flavor and bitterness. Clean and refreshing. MaiBockAddict (1499), Good Beer Bar Deprived, New Jersey, USA Sep 18, 2004 Tap at New Hope. Golden and cloudy, white head. Aroma of sulfur and vinegar, but in a pleasant sort of way. Flavor is malty and hoppy, with a slight sulfur flavor. The hopslinger in the finish. Very drinkable. tjthresh (1749), Greenfield, Indiana, USA May 18, 2008 On tap in Philadelphia. The pour was cloudy yellowy orange with a large white head. The hop flavor and aroma are the story here. Very fresh herbal character. Supremely drinkable. Probiere (992), Iowa, USA Jan 31, 2006 Bit of a cellar funk for sure, some musty cheese, mild blue? Cheesiness with white grape notes, yeasty sourness, overripe oxidized apples and some horseblanket. A total surprise. Complex and refreshing. Mouthfeel full and yeasty but not chalky. Chewy-ish.
