Draft at the source. Clear golden yellow color, thin white head. Aroma of straw biscuit. Taste is similar. Nice body.

Tap at the brewery. Pours clear amber with a small, frothy white head, short retention with light lacing. Aroma is toast and cookie malt, dates, earthy and spicy hops. Flavor is malt dominant with medium hops and bitterness, a clean lager character and a sweet finish. Medium body and carbonation.

On tap at the Lehigh Valley Brew Fest ’04. Poured a medium orange color with a small off white head. Aroma and tastes of malts, toffee, and bread. Maybe I’m just bored of Oktobefests now, but this seems like every other one I’ve had lately (not bad, but nothing too special).

Grapefruit and peach pits stick to the caramel malts. Fresh fruity pulp is present, but nothing special to distract you from daydreaming.
Light peachiness accompanies the nameless hop presence. Well-made malt structure doesn’t yield much to talk about in this easy to down pint.
The football game is on I think.

Growler courtesy of JB175. Pours copper with a reddish tint and a nice sustained white head. Smells of caramel, dough, wildflowers, light tea. Tastes spicy and lightly bitter with a touch of citrus and a dry malty finish.

Strikingly grainy nose, remotely bready and toasty as well, but the graininess does not have the usual freshness I associate with vienna malts and thus contrasts more than complement the rather hoppy nature, mostly focusing on bitterness than finishing aromas. Draft. Pours a dark golden hazy body with a thin off white head. Yeast y body with some spicy notes, floral tones, tea like bitterness and a bread y dough y finish. Good stuff especially for the style.
