Sweet and smokey. A nice surprising addition to the beers that I’ve sampled from this place.

Draft. Amber pour with tan head. Smoked and sweet tones start the flavor, finishes with oaky and meat tones. Very smooth. Aroma is light but smoked and woody.

Location: Draft at the Brewpub - Princeton, 4/21/13
Aroma: The aroma is clean and smokey, some burnt malts, and some light meaty notes
Appearance: It pours a clear caramel color with an off-white head and some plus lacing
Flavor: The taste is on target with the nose, it is plenty smokey, but clean and not over-the-top
Palate: The body is medium, it has a good mouthfeel, and it finishes pretty smooth
Overall Impression:
I thought this was a nice Rauchbier. It has the right amount of balance between the smoke and rest of the components. Good stuff.
4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 obxdude10 (1883) - Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 11, 2012
I’m not a big fan of smoked beers, but this one from Triumph was delicious. I sampled a few glasses from a fresh growler from Princeton. The beer poured a light brown color with a nice tan head that left some cascading lace around the glass. The nose was full of smoked malt and some hops. The smokey flavor was very pronounced in the body of the beer, but it wasn’t overpowering. The beer had some great balancing with some dry and semi-spicy hops.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 JCB (3808) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - MAY 19, 2012
On tap at the brewpub, Princeton. Nice clear amber pour with a medium carbonation and a minimal head. Soft demi-sweet malts and mild smoke in the nose. Taste is much more assertive, mostly towards the campfire end of the spectrum rather than the hog. Clean, dry, and smoky as hell, it comes across as a satisfying lager and a satisfying smoked beer simultaneously.

This poured a murky medium brown color with a beige head. Aroma was lots of smoke, not really campfire, but more like smoked cheese. Some caramel in there too. Flavor was a nice blend of smoked peaty mlat balanced by light caramel malt sweetness. Good Stuff.

Growler picked up by Meister_chow for RBSG 2011. Poured an orange/amber body with an average foamy off white head. Aroma of campfire and smoked pork, hint of burnt rubber. Thinner bodied with average carbonation. Flavor of smoke, earth, and a hint of pork fat. Solid enough.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 italarican (1046) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 18, 2011
Bottle generously shared at the RBSG grand tasting. Pours a hazy orange. Aroma is plenty meaty with notes of salami and Lebanon bologna; some tart lemon comes through too. Flavor is mild and soft. Yeast and oak notes with a soft, lingering bacon quality. Moderately low level of oakiness with plenty of meat.

Amber color, small frothy off-white head, snoke flavor, slightly bitter smoky taste, bitter finish. Very good beer!
