4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Moderate malt flavors, very nutty. Hops are heavy, flowery and purfumed - resinous, grapefruit and pine flavors. Moderately yeasty - very spice driven. Banana grape and apple - very fruity and sweet. Nutmeg and clove make an appearance. small off white head is mostly diminishing. Medium amber, orange red hues. Moderately sweet, heavily acidic, and slightly bitter. Well balanced and a bit acetic. A long duration. dry, creamy, syrupy body is medium to full. Lively carbonation. It’s delicious, spicy, fruity and deep.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Good but really too spiced for my comfort. Not just coriander, but an almost flowery lavender and also something sharp (grains of paradise?), and I don’t like lavender. Still, drinkable enough and in great condition, and with a nice cottony sweetness. Handbottled very well thanks to hophead75.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
on tap in Princeton- hazy dark orange/light amber in color with a small off white head. Aroma: alot of spice: ginger, coriander; some light belgian yeast and some notes of pale malt sweetness. Taste is caramel, some biscuity malt with alot of spice and touch of yeast esters. Some earthy hops in the finish Not bad as a straight up spiced ale; but not good as a saison- actually nothing like a saison. I am not sure what Tom was going for on this one when he brewed it.

Thick spicy nose, cloves, pepper, quite dense.pours brown orange thin head very cloudy. loads of spice taste is overpoweringly spicy even for a saison not giving any barnyardy flavours that i was hoping for.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Light color with a small head. Aroma is sweet with some light citrus and spice. Taste is light, refreshing, but too boring to be a really good saison. Good, but average for the style at best.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught at Triumph Philly. Solid golden-metallic body and a clean white head. Aroma of fresh grain, with citrus and herbal highlights. Flavor is mostly dry and spicy, with additional notes suggesting lavendar and vanilla, not my favorite qualities in a beer. This is a well-made saison, regardless.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hand-bottle courtesy of Dickinsonbeer, sampled in November of 2006: Pours a hazy copper with a wispy-lacing off-white head. Complex earthy floral peppery spiced aroma has a good sweet biscuity malty presence. Body starts sweet and full with a floral hop flavor and bitter earthy balance with lots of bready yeast. True to style and enjoyable.
