Bottle @ La Taverna del Bucaniere. Inaspettata Blanche.

Bottle - 750mL crowned. Murky gold with a tall, foamy white head. Aroma is dusty wheat, sweet malt, ripe fruit and wheat notes. Taste is sweet malt, wheat, soft toasted grains, dusty yeast, candied fruit, straw and light floral hops. Body is light-medium with a strong, bubbly carbonation. Ends with more sweet malt, wheat, dusty yeast, light flowery notes, straw and candied fruit.

29/IX/2012 - 33cl bottle @ De Graal brewery (Brakel) with the Gentse Biervereniging - BB: VI/14 (2012-1092)

Clear blond orange beer, small aery white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: lots of orange peel, coriander, bit spicy, sweet. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: bit spicy, some caramel, bit of candi sugar, lots of coriander, orange peel, little bitter, spicy. A bit too sweet for a witbier, and not sour enough, for me.

750 ml. Hazy deep golden body. Frothy off-white head, fully diminishing. Aroma of clove, honey, peach, orange. The flavor is moderately to heavily sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, soft carbonation. Sweet orange and banana taste followed by hints of lemon citrus. Clove and spice help balance the honey notes and sweet fruits. Some pepper in the finish along with a muted lingering bitterness. Not as zippy and refreshing as other wits and a bit sweet, but still an enjoyable beer.

330ml bottle. Pours a hazy pale gold, with lots of floating sediment. The large white head lasts well, but does not leave much lacing. Bizarrely enough, the main aroma is of methode champenoise cider, with some doughy yeast notes and maybe a touch of coriander. There is some spicy coriander up front, with some tangy orange peel in the mix. There is a tad too much yeast in the middle, but a nice coriander and apple finish redeems it somewhat. Not the best witbier out there, but passable enough.

750 ml bottle poured a cloudy gold with a small lasting white head. Aromas of wheat, yeast, pear, light banana and light spice. Palate was light bodied and smooth. Flavors of wheat, yeast, light fruittiness and light spice with a smooth wheat finish.

Pours pale gold, thick head with large bubbles sinks pretty quick. Strong bread and banana on the nose. Aroma isn’t as deep as most belgian style beers are. Bready, thick, some spice.
