3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Like many American wheat beers, the yeast is barely spicy. Banana, a little sandalwood-ish spice, and a lot of esters. Drying for a wheat beer. Great if it’s super-cold.

Tap sampler at Troegs in Hershey, PA. Pretty standard for an average wheat. Dry on the mouth feel and in the throat.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cloudy citrine color, little lace
Light body but enough zing in the mouthfeel to prevent it from tasting weak. Flavorful, spritzy, complex, long, balanced.
Moderately bitter, dry, low acidity.
Soapy yeast flavor, cloves, floral.
One of the best wheat ales I remember drinking.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Had this more than enough times, figured I better say something.
I’ve had this in weizen glasses most of the time, but often had it straight form the bottle.
The appearance was a nice hazy yellow to orange color, definitely looks filtered to me. In the weizen glass, it definitely had a nice two finger soft white foamy head that dissipates a fairly moderate pace.
The smell was slightly peppery yet clove-like banana-esque refreshing-ness. I would say spectacular in Summer.
The taste was peppery spicy with a super nice allocated banana-ness coming back to balance it all out. The aftertaste was slightly banana/spiciness leading to a nice refreshing (could be construed as watery) aftertaste. I’d say it was a dry finish.
On the palate, this one sits about a light to medium and shows a pretty good sessionable quality running about my mouth and tongue. The carbonation hits, but isn’t overly done.
Overall, if there’s ever any hefeweizen I’d ever like to replicate in my homebrewing, it would be this. Though I’ve never reviewed this on Beer Advocate, this is an exceptionally well done hefeweizen well worthy of having again. I could only wish to ever get this again.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle to shaker. Pours cloudy gold. Two finger head, quick head, not much lacing. Aroma of clove, banana. Tastes lightly sweet, earthy, floral bitterness, slightly sour from the yeast. Body is light, creamy, light carbonation. Finishes rather dry with fruity notes, banana and clove. My least favorite beer style but a solid beer none the less.
