4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle via Mys Swap 3.0 (thanks!). bottle says 4-2007...exactly 1 year and one month old... Pours a reddish brown with a beautiful cascading BEIGE head. Nose is caramel, toffee and fruit. Tastes like it smells..with the fruity brightness really coming through both up-front and in the finish. Strawberry, raisins, chocolate, vanilla, toasted grains. Also some cummin and a bit of ginger in the aftertaste. Interesting and complex beer. Medium body and good carbonation. THis is a well put-together beer.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A- Pours a ruddy, reddish brown hue with a small, off white head.
S- Smells incredibly malty and sweet with caramel and raisins coming to the forefront. Definitely a piney hop character.
T- Suprisingly balanced and smooth. Starts off with raisins, caramel, moves to a sort of cassis flavor followed by a small amount of hops which fades to a lingering maltiness on the tongue.
M- Fairly viscous with a good amount of carbonation.
D- Based on the old reviews i’ve read, the hops have cooled down a lot on this one. It’s drinking really nice right now. I might be inclined to drink it now for those who still have some! I’d be interested to see how the balance is in another 6 months. Too bad this isn’t more available or I would seek out another bottle. Thanks go out to risser for this one.

Thanks whoever sent me this. Pours a very murky ruddy brownish. One finger tan head. Nice malty aroma, sweet, light citrusy hops, grapefruit peel, caramel, a little aged. Nice caramel, sweet, grapefruit peel flavor, waxy mouthfeel, not overpowering, well hidden alcohol. Very nice BW.

Courtesy of mj. Beautiful dark mahogany with a high beige head. Hoppy piney nose with caramel and dark fruits. Flavor is also heavily hopped with notes of pine, tropical fruits, dark toffee, grapefruit, big woodiness. Pleasantly sweet, smooth bitterness/resinousness. Full to medium bodied with a smooth texture and subtle carbonation. Very good!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz bottle. Pours a dark amber body with a tight bubbled creamy beige head that retained as a thin covering. The nose is big caramel malt with a nice accent of resiny hops. The flavor is really well balanced with heavy caramel malt and a nice resiny hoppiness that cuts the sweetness really well. Great lingering burnt caramel finish. Mouthfeel is great, full and soft with zero stickiness and perfect soft carbonation. Clearly the best of the Scratch beers to date that I’ve had. This was just so well balanced and easy drinking. Should have gotten a case of this.
