Poured into a perfect pint. 4.5 A: Clear light orange color. Two fingers of frothy off-white head. Retention is very good and tons of lacing is left. 3.75 S: Dank, resiny hops coming up grassy and earthy. Clean neutral maltiness with just a touch of breadiness. 3.5 T: Moderate bitterness. Grassy and earthy hop flavors, perhaps a touch of pine as well. Again quite clean. Fresh mountain stream water, a touch of bread. 3.5 M: Lighter medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Light creaminess appropriate for style. 3.75 D: Tasty beer. No real faults. Worth a try. ★ 583 characters DavoleBomb, Sep 26, 2015

Crisp light amber and copper coloured body with a clear glow and a thinnish tan head. Aroma of pungent resinous and grassy hop scent along with some light malt and a touch of sugars - nice and balanced with the emphasis on the hops, of course. Medium-bodied; Strong hop flavour at first with resin, grass, floral and herbal elements all at play here. Aftertaste shows a subdued sweetness, some light caramel along with a more earthy and noticeable malt character throughout. Overall, a good fresh pale ale with some nice flavours and an understated but appreciated complexity. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Washington (Foggy Bottom, Eye Street), DC on 29-October-2015 for US$2,49 sampled at home in Washington on 19-January-2016.

Pours a clear, pale orange with average head. Smells wonderful, like clementines. The sweet, citrus aroma is just great. The flavor isn’t quite as good. The sweetness is cut with a grassy hop character that’s good, but not as good as the smell. I can’t remember the last time a beer smelled this sweet and then wasn’t quite sweet enough on the tongue to suit me. That never happens. Still, it is good.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 7/24/2015. Pours slightly hazy deep golden amber color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, light honey, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of bright citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate bready malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, light honey, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, melon, lemon/orange rind, pine, light honey, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero astringent hop flavors after the finish. Moderate amount of dryness from bitterness as well. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately sticky, and light creamy/bready balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice harvest IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate bready malt flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

[7919-20151112] 12floz bottle. Fragrant orange petal and candied tropical fruit (but I wrote ’fish’ because we were talking about our fish, Pemberley) aroma. Clear, bright orange body with a medium-lasting creamy white head. Bitter orange and floral tropical fruit and candied mango flavour. Medium body is fairly bitter. Delicious. (9/4/9/4/16) 4.2

Bottling date of 7/30/15 so this is far from fresh. I meant to grab Blizzard of Hops. Pours a clear, very light orange with a frothy head. In the aroma there is a hint that this is old but still smells surprisingly fresh. I have had other IPAs that were fresher that had degraded much more severely. There is some citrus with a hint of pine and what seems like a very faint perfume smell. Taste is mainly bitter citrus with a crisp mouthfeel and dry finish. Decent beer that I will have to try fresh.

2015-11-12. Average bodied palate, soft carbonation. 3+ 7/3/7/3/14 Bottle courtesy of Deuane at Campground Brewdown.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden orange, thin head, decent lacing. Nice aromas: pine, lemon, hops, hint of honey. Very crisp. The hoppy bitterness hits your palate immediately but isn’t overwhelming. There are some interesting citrus and floral notes in the mix.
