3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle on the deck. Pours clear amber with off white foamy head. Slight grapefruit and earthy nose. Medium bodied. Real dry earth herbal hop profile. Fall beer for sure but for loving hops, this isn't dank or fruity enough for me. Too much earth to be drinking multiples of

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
DATE: August 18, 2016... OCCASION: Toasting the last night of Camp--six years of solid summers with the boys... GLASSWARE: Barley Creek pint... medium amber body, crystal clear, with a soft yet lively effervescence... a creamy, slightly, nearly two-finger off-white head that creates a cloud-like horizon... strong, alluring pine and resin with the grapefruit, stone fruit and spiciness expected of an IPA.... full-bodied, with a crunchy bite at the teeth... smooth, almost creamy through the mouth... the finish is slightly sweet, with lasting impact of resin... among the flavors include resin, pine, spicy notes of pepper and paprika, powerful citrus--orange peel, grapefruit, and mango--and a reasonable amount of caramel malts that balance the beer with sensibility... overall, another Troegs victory, with a pile of hops sitting pretty under only 6.2% ABV... drinkable, rewarding and robust...

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured out of a 12oz can, which states a 6.2% ABV (not 6.8%). Professional, clean, filtered look with a thin white head and a light amber color. Little to no lacing is present. Nose has a nice mix of citrus hop and pine, but subtle. It’s refreshing, and it is not "heavy" like a Victory Hop Devil. Troegs masterfully hits the segue to the fall. I’m fading from the summer session IPAs, but I don’t want to drink a fest beer at this time either (the heat wave in NJ has lasted for several days at scorching levels; not ready for pumpkin beer, coffee imperial porters, etc). As I recall, this brew will not last in stores for long, so grab it if you see it. Cheers!

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a clear amber with a thin white head. Aroma of tropical fruits, citrus, tangy dank hops, grassy hops, grapefruit. Flavor of tropical fruits, hop oils, bitter hops, grassy hops. Very hoppy, fruity, dank. Perhaps even something of a palate wrecker.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Wow what a great IPA, and I don’t say that often. Aroma was pure dank and marijuana-y. Strong pine, cat piss and green hops. Very thick. Pour was a nice clear medium gold with a one finger off white head that left quickly. Taste was awesome. All the thick bitter dank hop aroma flowed through to the flavor and left a nice bitter slap to the face finish. Wet and delicious. May be the best IPA I’ve had all year. Nice carbonation.

Aroma - caramel malt, citrus, floral, and resin hops.
Appearance - the body is a clean amber, with light nucleation. The head is off-white and 2+", tight and settles slowly.
Taste - caramel malt, with citrus, floral, and resin hops. Very well balanced.
Palate - body is medium, not oiled, carbonation is average, finish has abrupt bitters.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured into a perfect pint.
4.5 A: Clear light orange color. Two fingers of frothy off-white head. Retention is very good and tons of lacing is left.
3.75 S: Dank, resiny hops coming up grassy and earthy. Clean neutral maltiness with just a touch of breadiness.
3.5 T: Moderate bitterness. Grassy and earthy hop flavors, perhaps a touch of pine as well. Again quite clean. Fresh mountain stream water, a touch of bread.
3.5 M: Lighter medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Light creaminess appropriate for style.
3.75 D: Tasty beer. No real faults. Worth a try.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Crisp light amber and copper coloured body with a clear glow and a thinnish tan head. Aroma of pungent resinous and grassy hop scent along with some light malt and a touch of sugars - nice and balanced with the emphasis on the hops, of course. Medium-bodied; Strong hop flavour at first with resin, grass, floral and herbal elements all at play here. Aftertaste shows a subdued sweetness, some light caramel along with a more earthy and noticeable malt character throughout. Overall, a good fresh pale ale with some nice flavours and an understated but appreciated complexity. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Washington (Foggy Bottom, Eye Street), DC on 29-October-2015 for US$2,49 sampled at home in Washington on 19-January-2016.

Pours a clear, pale orange with average head. Smells wonderful, like clementines. The sweet, citrus aroma is just great. The flavor isn’t quite as good. The sweetness is cut with a grassy hop character that’s good, but not as good as the smell. I can’t remember the last time a beer smelled this sweet and then wasn’t quite sweet enough on the tongue to suit me. That never happens. Still, it is good.
