puboflyons (590), New Hampshire, USA Mar 16, 2009 From a 12 fl. oz. bottle with a bottled date of 012209 and a number of 090107. This pours a nice looking amber-orange with lively carbonation that rises to a two finger, foamy beige head. The aroma is hoppy all the way, almost like an IPA. Perhaps some background fruity element. Medium mouthfeel with good texture. The flavor is hoppy and sweet all at once and rather unique. A bitter finish. Yum-Oh. NDbeerdrinker (164), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA Mar 7, 2009 Pours an amber color with a thin white head. Aroma is sweet, very fruity, hops. Taste is slight caramel malt, orange peel, and nice mild hop flavor. Very easy drinking brew that goes down nicely. Nothing great about it, but very pleasant. rohash (37), New York, USA Mar 6, 2009 Pours an orangish amber, light head. Nice floral aroma. Excellent hop flavor and nice bitterness. Clean finish that leaves you wanting another one. At 6.0 they sneak up on you. This beer is a must for hopheads. SoLan (1369), Orlando, Florida, USA Mar 6, 2009 Courtesy MrChopin. Clear amber. Small off white head. Great balance of toasty malt and fresh hops combine for a spicy, fruity, and mildly sweet brew. Medium body, balanced carbonation. Easy drinking session brew with plenty of character. SamGamgee (1396), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA Feb 28, 2009 Draught. Clear amber with a sticky head. Fresh hoppy nose in a floral, resiny, citrucy fashion. Pretty clean caramel malt flavor with lots of juicy hop flavor. Reminds me of nugget nectar session version, but what did I expect. Solid amber ale. foundmd (163), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Feb 28, 2009 On tap at Dilly Deli. Ruby amber with a small tan head. Aroma of citrus and sweet malts. Bold flavor of citrus hops, especially for the style, with a nice malt profile of caramel sweetness. Balanced mouthfeel. Good for a summer session. Snojerk321 (1917), San Diego, California, USA Feb 27, 2009 Bottle from MrChopin. Pours a nice medium amber color with an off white head that left great lacing. Great nose of toasted malts, wheat, and a touch of hops. The hops were much more developed in the flavor. A nice toasty finish. BleacherBum (176), Blowing Rock, North Carolina, USA Feb 26, 2009 Tap at a Georgetown bar in DC. Decent. The hop flavor was a little stale and cheesy. Maybe dirty tap lines? The caramel seemed evident until I drank a year old Alpha King directly afterward.
