Commercial Description:
Troegs HopBack Amber gets its unique name and taste from the HopBack Vessel in our brewhouse. Packed full of whole flower hops, each batch circulates through the vessel, creating a fresh hoppy aroma, spicy taste and rich caramel note that defines this signature amber ale.

Loved it! Nice hoppy kick, but well balanced with the rest of the beer. Haven’t had a Troegs yet that I didn’t love.

So so flavor. It was interesting that the hops were present in smell, but the beer wasn’t bitter. I would purchase this one again

Bottle. Pours a dark amber color with minimal off-white head. Citrus aroma is a preview to the flavor of hops that comes across the tongue with spiciness. Not overpowering, and very sessionable.

Dark amber/copper color. Nice beige head, but dissipates quickly. Citrus/grapefruit cascade hop aroma and flavor. Some caramel malt. Thin.

Pours red amber with an off-white head. Aroma is hoppy with a bit of malt sweetness. Flavor is also hoppy with a nice balancing malt character. Decent body. Flavors are good but not bold enough to be great.

Very clear and beautiful maple amber color with an inch of thick off-white head. Aroma of sweet, almost caramel, pine hops. Sweetness is there with a mild caramel at first, but the hop finish is unpronounced. It starts to transition to the slightly bitter hops and then just falls off. I like the body though and I think it’s still a good beer.

This is a nice amber with a bold hop character. The aroma is hops with some sweet malt and mild yeast. Flavor is nice and hopy with citrus and pine and a mild floral note. Finish is a bit sticky but not in a negative way. I like this beer and continue to buy it a few times a year.

Hoppy! Not too much, though, so I can stand it! Not a refresher... good with dinner... like hamburgers! Yum.
