However, it’s well balanced, but too bitter for me to act as a session beer. However, having it server at the brewery was a treat because, with hopped ales, it’s best served fresh. Nice mouthfeel (not to chewy, not too thin), well balanced taste, albeit a bitt more hop bitter than a traditional amber ale. (On Tap 10/13/2007) BarleyBob (18), West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Oct 13, 2007 This has become one of my favorite beers. It pours a deep copper color with a thick, white head. The aroma is wonderful, full of floral/citrusy/spicy hop notes. The flavor is very hoppy, but it is a citrusy/grapefruit flavor, with just a tiny bit of bitterness. I find this to be a very distinctive, very enjoyable beer. clueo (112), Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 11, 2007 Red in color with little translucense. You can spell the hops long before your first sip. The taste is very much what the aroma suggests. It is a nice hoppy beer with a smooth finish. ScottB (73), Bristow, Virginia, USA

I was immediately impressed with the BIG hoppy aroma during the pour. Nice thick head slowly dissipated with lingering lace. True to its name, this beer is full of hop flavor. Slightly bitter finish, but not overly so. Mouthfeel left me wanting a little, but, overall, a nice beer. Beerman6686 (1280), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

Nice light start with a very hoppy aftertaste. Light color and texture give away later to a good strong aftertaste that leaves you craving more. Jmichael (633), Asheville, North Carolina, USA
