Commercial Description:
Troegs HopBack Amber gets its unique name and taste from the HopBack Vessel in our brewhouse. Packed full of whole flower hops, each batch circulates through the vessel, creating a fresh hoppy aroma, spicy taste and rich caramel note that defines this signature amber ale.

Not the best of the Troeg products by any means, but certainly a decent beer, especialy for a low price everyday beer.Mainly notes of caramel and such with some grapefruit notes as well but nothing special

wow that is nice. very clean wood accent with a beautiful tasting hop character that includes floral pine and grapefruit rind accents in very good proportion. beer is really creamy yet refreshng (probably the beautiful flavor). wow thats a nice substantive and really classy brew. no hint of alcohol.

Troegs doesn’t disappoint with lovers of light hoppy beers with this one. Nice light start with a very hoppy aftertaste. Light color and texture give away later to a good strong aftertaste that leaves you craving more.

poured into a pint. pours a bubbly red copper amber with good white head. sweet hoppy aroma. smooth malty front with sweet hoppy backgrounds to a light finish. not much bitterness from hops, but sweet lingering aftertaste. good, yet more aromatic than flavor from the hops, light and sessionable.

Bottle. Pours copper with thin but tight offwhite head. The aroma is floral hops with some honey and citrus notes and light biscuit. The flavor is biscuit and toast malt witha pretty assertive hop profile for an amber. Mostly pine, some lemon notes, too. It gets some caramel in the finish with a mild spice and earth aftertaste.

From a bottle poured amber with a good amount of head. Nice hoppy flavor, kinda sweet, with nice lasting aftertaste.

A rotten fruit laced floral piny aroma, a little scary. Transparent iced tea appearance. Also has an iced tea, tea froth head. Fruity hop bite. Of course the hops are the main feature here. Small amount of creamy carbonation. wants to be an IPA but never quite gets there. Citrus rind flavors build thru the session. Dirty hop spring water finish. Will not buy again. Get’s a seven overall only because it is troeg.

Bottle courtesy of Steph: Poured a deep copper color ale with a big foamy white head with some good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of floral and bitter hops is dominating. Taste is a mix between light caramel malt with some bitter hops at the end. Body is about average with some great carbonation. With the level of hops that can be found in this beer it is almost leaning toward an IPA. Very good session beer overall but nothing earth shattering in here.
