| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 30, 2007 dark brown appearance. flavor is unique with a slight malt character that is quickly overwelmed by an overriding strong hoppness. The two flavors never seem to mesh together leaving a slightly uneven flavor to the beer. a quality brew but i was hoping for more Dacrza (252), Great Meadows, New Jersey, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jun 29, 2007 Proud to claim these brewers as Pennsylvanians... the smell of hops is thrust throughout the family room as the rich amber body settles into a shaker...a fruity, salty effervescence smooths out the mellow hop taste, although slight acidity is present at the tongue’s back....a label that is backed by its substance, Hopback crafts a delicious non-complex ale that works as an all-season pint--not an easy accomplishment... nearbeer (1834), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 29, 2007 Pours clear copper, with a medium and lasting head. Aroma is delicious spicy chocolate, apples and raisins. Flavor is definitely hop-spicy fruit, but has some powerful malty nut and chocolate richness that supports the hops well. Medium-bodied palate starts with the smooth malt, but explodes with astringent, tingly hops and carbonation, finishing dry. This is a top-notch beer that would make a rather interesting entry in the IPA category. Definitely better than Mac and Jacks. LinusStick (1831), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jun 26, 2007 Nice! Dark brown pour with a nice 2 finger white head that laced the whole glass. Aroma of hops. Taste of caramel and roasted malt until the swallow, then the hops grab the back of your throat and hold on. By the aroma youd think this beer was more hoppy, but it hides it well. For those who want to get into craft beer but don’t want to be killed by hops this does it. Great full flavor and great balance.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 18, 2007 From my long lost notes. 12 oz. bottle purchased as part of a sampler case in July, 2004. Pours a clear amber with a moderate off-white head. Pleasant hoppy aroma with citrus and some light pine. Flavor was initially some caramel followed by some moderate hops. Not excessively bitter and fairly smooth. Good stuff. JAF737300 (792), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 17, 2007 This is outstanding. It pours an almost copper red and gives of huge hop notes. The mouthfeel shows hops and citrus and it finishes with a dense hop flavor along with a lighlt bitter finish.
