Beerdedone (1873), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 24, 2006 On draft at Just Sports with Stegosaurus. Poured amber color with an ok head, has a bitter bite with a good taste, its hoppy, this beer was enjoyable.
tsarman (794), Northern, New Jersey, USA Apr 23, 2006 A really fine amber ale. Great hoppy character that is fresh and delicious. Very nicely balanced beer, as it is not overly powerful. Foxbush (452), Richmond, Virginia, USA Apr 23, 2006 Updated: Oct 3, 2009This was purchased in the Carytown Shopping Square in Richmond, VA. The amber color was clear and very inviting. The head was white and smallish. The hops and malt were well balanced. This is well crafted ale. The finish was smooth with no bitter aftertaste. This was also tasted at the Richbrau Beer Festival. I liked the bottle version better. Had another on 10/3/09 at the Navy v AirForce game. It was hops flavors were stroner and an ale that I will pursue further. The spicy flavor was not noticed earlier. MattShizzle (385), Bernville, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 22, 2006 Bottle - from sampler pack. Pretty good amber ale, though not nearly as hoppy as they make it sound. doubleipa (224), Georgia, USA Apr 21, 2006 My wife brought this back for me from PA. Has a good light-brown head and true amber color. As expected, aroma has a good bit of malt and hops. Some typical hops aromas: resin, pine, citrus, but not overpowering. (Leave that to the Nugget Nectart). Overal, a pretty good beer. I’m not a huge fan of amber ales, but this is pretty good. FoolishMortal (965), San Diego, California, USA Apr 21, 2006 12oz. bottle. Light brown-orange with a medium sized light tan head. Citric metallic Cascade family hop aroma with some biscuity malt. Rich caramel flavors with some hop spiciness. Grassy hop astringency and residual malty sweetness. Mouthfeel is medium light, fairly smooth and somewhat dry. bubbleflubber (885), Collinsville, Virginia, USA Apr 19, 2006 Hmmm.... at first, I thought this reminded me more of a "thicker" APA. It pours deep amber into the glass with a very small head. Aromas of Cascade hops, pine needles and caramel abound. The Cascade-esque notes permeate into the flavor, providing a good amount of bitterness around a lighter spiced caramel malt. Medium-full mouthfeel indicates that this could be a decent session brew, especially for the fall season. SB (317), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 19, 2006 From Bottle. Bottled on 1-30-2006.
Nice deep copper pour. Fast dissipating white bubbly head with some still present around the edges all the way through. Wonderful aroma. Hints of grass, pine, caramel, and malt. First sip brought out a huge hop bite, grassy and piney with a sweet caramel/sugar aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel. Medium bodied. Crisp, Dry finish. Nice brew for a spring night
