Commercial Description:
Troegs HopBack Amber gets its unique name and taste from the HopBack Vessel in our brewhouse. Packed full of whole flower hops, each batch circulates through the vessel, creating a fresh hoppy aroma, spicy taste and rich caramel note that defines this signature amber ale.

Bottle. Orange colour with a white head. Floral hop, citrus aroma and a light sweet floral hop taste. Medium body with a sweet finish.

Nice amber color. Strong resiny aroma, but the mouthfeel is too thin, poor malt. Of course, strong ending resiny bitterness.

Clear amber color with a nice head. Spicy hop aroma is powerful. Very hoppy for an amber. Tasty beer that would be good for a night out....good stuff.

12 oz bottle: Pours a slighly browner amber color (more brown than many other amber ales Ive had) with a big fluffy off-white/tannish head. A little bit of nice carbonations slowly dancing its way to the top. The aroma is of bread, light hints of cinamon, crackers, floral hops, some citrus. The flavor is quite lovely. A velvety mouthfeel that is very easy to drink. The flavors are of hops, caramel malts, floral, light citrus, fruity notes, and pure enjoyment. Its not amazingly complex or heavy or big in taste, but it is very good.

I’ve only had 6 of the Troegs brews but out of all those, this one took the cake by far. It’s taste is simply exquisite. Good head. Good smell. I have to admit it’s a bit on the hoppy side yet still not overpowering. A little bitter. Medium-to heavy fruityness. Its a good brew to take with meals. All in all, I’d say theres no mans glass this beer isn’t good enough to fill!

12oz bottle via trade with slob! - Thanks Bert! - Pours amber with a very nice tall offwhite head that stays very well and laces the sides of the glass in weblike patterns. Aromas of floral hops and caramel malts. Flavor is quite hoppy for an amber. Nice notes of floral and grapefruit hops blend well with sweet caramel malts. Pretty full bodied for an amber as well. Good bitter finish keeps you coming back for more. Nice and balanced and easy drinking. This is good stuff...

Pours a nice dark amber, with ample head. Rich heavy flavor with the hops coming through strongly. Great beer.
