coldbrewky (716), Saugerties, New York, USA Apr 16, 2009 Hey...how did I miss this one? I’ve only been tripping over the case I bought for three weeks now. Ahh a nice hoppy critter a bit on the juicy side. A deeper amber in the glass. Infused malt with a fair ammnt of tang in the finish. Four of these make a good pain killer if you try to saw your finger off. altonbrownd (1862), Amsterdam, Netherlands Apr 15, 2009 Bottle from coldbrewky. Nice amber body with sticky head. Great hoppy nose with notes of sweet fruits. And lots of hops in the taste. No false advertising here. Slight kick in the finish. I know Ambers vary but this one felt more like an IPA. Very nicely done. Thanks again Steve! nqualls (1429), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Apr 11, 2009 Source: 12oz bottle from a mixed 12 pack, purchased in Washington DC. Appearance: Clear amber color with a one finger white head. Aroma: Floral, pine and sweet fruit. Flavor: Sweet malt base with a pine hop finish. A bit of citrus in the middle. Palate: Medium body and slightly stickly mouthfeel, but overall very clean. Carbonation was solid. Overall: Really enjoyed this, as I do most Troegs offerings. Not much to complain about.
euserphriendly (163), Holland, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 9, 2009 I’m really enjoying the sixtel of this one. Just enough hop flavor to balance out the malty backbone of this amber. It won’t overwhelm but it won’t disappoint. Solid choice. CaryTheDude (1113), Longmont, Colorado, USA Apr 9, 2009 Crushed with Jakebra. Apparently better on tap, but this in’t bad at all. Malt, hops, bit of poop on the nose. Flavor has much more hops and malt, with much less poop. Excellent amber, which I haven’t had the pleasure of saying very often. ben4321 (953), Rockville, Maryland, USA Apr 7, 2009 Location: 12 oz bottle from Gilly’s, 4/7/09
Aroma: Honey, floral, fruity
Appearance: Amber color, 2 inches of white head
Flavor: Mostly sweet, nice balanced beer, pine hops release as it warms
Palate: Drinks pretty easily, smooth, creamy taste
Overall Impression:
This is a pretty nice, interesting beer, not exactly as hoppy as you might have expected. Kind of flatter then I expected, a nice beer though. Haslinger (640), Syracuse, New York, USA Apr 5, 2009 12 ounce bottle. Very solid hops aroma. Great hoppy pine taste. I could take down a lot of these beers. Very delicious. Would buy again soon
