Caramel is the dominant smell; light but floral hop in the background. Slightly metallic.
Nice balance with a decent body. Pleasant malt start, mostly crystal. The swallow presents the bitter hop, but the aftertaste is brief. This is a very easy beer to drink. Moggman (187), Columbus, Ohio, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 19, 2009 Bottle poured into a standard pint glass produced a finger worth of white head that went to a thick lace. The body of the brew was a clear red in color.
The aromas were piney hops followed by some nice malts sweetness. The flavor boils down to a less hoppy Nugget Nectar. I like it is very balanced and easy to drink. With its medium to light feel in the mouth and great carbonation.
This brew is a good balanced brew very drinkable and easily quaffable. I will go back to this brew again

I’ve only been tripping over the case I bought for three weeks now. Ahh a nice hoppy critter a bit on the juicy side. A deeper amber in the glass. Infused malt with a fair ammnt of tang in the finish. Four of these make a good pain killer if you try to saw your finger off. altonbrownd (1888), Amsterdam, Netherlands

Great hoppy nose with notes of sweet fruits. And lots of hops in the taste. No false advertising here. Slight kick in the finish. I know Ambers vary but this one felt more like an IPA. Very nicely done. Thanks again Steve! nqualls (1429), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 11, 2009 Source: 12oz bottle from a mixed 12 pack, purchased in Washington DC. Appearance: Clear amber color with a one finger white head. Aroma: Floral, pine and sweet fruit. Flavor: Sweet malt base with a pine hop finish. A bit of citrus in the middle. Palate: Medium body and slightly stickly mouthfeel, but overall very clean. Carbonation was solid. Overall: Really enjoyed this, as I do most Troegs offerings. Not much to complain about.
