4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
For my 50th review, I wanted to do a local standard. I haven’t had this brew in a while, so this should be fun!:
Ap: As the style suggests, the color is a crystal clear amber, with a slight haze posing as a head, and a tornado of bubbles (carbonation) rising from the bottom to the surface.
Ar: Mmmm..Nugget leaves and caramel malts caress the nose on this one.
T: A total balance of flowers, caramel, with a crispness to the finish that borders on perfection.
P: About as smooth as it gets, with nary a trace of wateriness anywhere.
O: Some may consider 6% ABV a bit high to be a session beer. However, I’m certainly enjoying this session.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. A clear, dark golden to amber colored beer topped by a small, dense, off-white head. The aroma is lightly bready, with caramel malts, perfumed candy and some pine cones and grass. It’s medium to full-bodied, with a soft carbonation. Rather dry. Less bread and caramel in the flavor, a decent bitterness showing up and there’s also a piney, grassy touch and some candy hints. Mostly bitter finish. A rather boring one, but at least it drinks easy. 150625

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
I very much enjoyed this amber ale, one of my favorites of the style, so far. Aroma was nice, perhaps reflecting it being "hopback"

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Shiki Sushi. Pours clear reddish copper with a pillowy white head. Aroma is mild pine hops. Taste is similar, piney hops with a caramel malt backing. Body is about average, slightly creamy texture. Overall a decent amber ale. Not my favorite style but a solid enough offering.

On cask at Rattle ’N’ Hum, NYC. Toasted toffee and apricot aroma with a white gummi bear accent. Almost clear bronze under white wisps and a thin ring. Sweet caramel flavour with apricot and pine hops, medium bitterness, and some lemon peel. Medium body, moderate to low carbonation, midway between smooth and crisp.
