3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On draft at Forebay in the Hershey Lodge. A rich hoppy amber ale mellowed with caramel notes. Easy to session year round.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
This is a slight disappointment. Almost not sure if it wants to be an amber or an IPA.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Good hop aroma with a subtle background of malt. Hop and malt are pretty well balanced. The texture is good with some butter cut by hop acidity. The taste is balanced, just a little bit heavy on the hop bitters.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Nice amber color, light head, very hoppy, but not a harsh finish. March madness 2014.

3.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
It’s an amber, and for that style it is good - but the hopback name makes it seem like there’d be more hops aroma.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Not sure why this is rated that high. A relic of years past when this sort of slightly hoppy amber was groundbreaking. Pours red with OK head and lacing. Soft carbonation. Some stale hops with a very light citrus dose. Light bitter finish. Tap at a Caps game - I’m just happy I’m not drinking bud light.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours out into a glass true-to style: an appealing deep red/amber with an off-white head. Muted hop aroma, mainly piney. The hops provide mostly bitterness as opposed to flavor, which is given over to the caramel malts. Almost roasted. Palate is thick but with surprisingly harsh carbonation and an overly-dry finish. OK beer and one of the more interesting Ambers I’ve had.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours nicely with a white head and copper color. Aroma is a little sweet, nutty. Nice malt flavor with a grapefruit like hop finish. Low carbonation. Nice beer.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A clear dark amber color with a frothy of white head. Not much of a smell. A bitter aftertaste. A good beer.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Has a soft ale smell to it. Ugly brownish color. The head was about a half inch and was an off white color. Had kind of a fruity IPA taste. A decent beer.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Nice, frothy head and nice lacing. Nutty, spiced aromas. Bitter hops, slight cinnamon, very malty. Good amber beer.
