COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Troegs HopBack Amber gets its unique name and taste from the HopBack Vessel in our brewhouse. Packed full of whole flower hops, each batch circulates through the vessel, creating a fresh hoppy aroma, spicy taste and rich caramel note that defines this signature amber ale.

Poured a clear amber brown with a minimal head but good lacing throughout. Sweet malt and hop aromas with mild citrus dominate ... not what I expected from an amber. Body was medium to light with good malt backbone, lingering hop flavors and a lasting sweet finish. An excellent amber!!

Spicy delicious aroma. Nice golden brown amber color. Spicy citrus cake flavor with beautiful hops and a very nice malt balance. Very hoppy.

9-13-10. For my 50th review, I wanted to do a local standard. I haven’t had this brew in a while, so this should be fun!: Ap: As the style suggests, the color is a crystal clear amber, with a slight haze posing as a head, and a tornado of bubbles (carbonation) rising from the bottom to the surface. Ar: Mmmm..Nugget leaves and caramel malts caress the nose on this one. T: A total balance of flowers, caramel, with a crispness to the finish that borders on perfection. P: About as smooth as it gets, with nary a trace of wateriness anywhere. O: Some may consider 6% ABV a bit high to be a session beer. However, I’m certainly enjoying this session.

Poured from a growler straight from Troegs Brewery. A amber color with a nice medium head. The smell of hops and caramel, Hit the nose. The taste is almost like an IPA but dialed down, It has sticky, feel with average carbonation, with what i thought was a long finish.

Hoppy! Not too much, though, so I can stand it! Not a refresher... good with dinner... like hamburgers! Yum.

A very enjoyable amber ale with a delicious aroma and smooth finish. Strong caramel and hoppy flavor make a really good, though not unique, combination. Head dissipated quickly.

33cl bott@Strasbourg Mondial de la Biere. Nice golden-amber color. Interesting nose. Lemony. Zesty. Clean and sharp. Nearly tasteless. Low malt profile, bit of hops, just a point. Nothing else. Disappointing. Lighly bodied.

Pours an orangish amber, light head. Nice floral aroma. Excellent hop flavor and nice bitterness. Clean finish that leaves you wanting another one. At 6.0 they sneak up on you. This beer is a must for hopheads.

12oz. brown bottle. One of the prettiest looking pours i have seen. A deep red color and a gorgeous thick and creamy head that is very lacey. Has a hoppy floral smell to it. Not overwhelming hoppy as far as taste. It is very very smooth drinking with a slight caramel flavor to it and very subtle spiceyness. This is a very tasty and very drinkable brew. This is my first sample of anything from Troegs but i really like the mouthfeel and flavor and the way it finishes. 90/100
