Enlightened hoppy fruity amber ale, one of Troegs best brews. Flavorful with beautiful aroma.

Excellent hoppy beer. Pleasant hops aroma, clear copper color, tastes clean and refreshing. I would have guessed it an IPA.

it may not be the best i’ve had, but it sure is good. Nice and smooth, with nice hoppy flavor. It could be a little more bitter, but i can live without that. Give it a try if you have the chance.

I personally think of Hopback as more of an IPA than an Amber. Big flavour and big IBU.

Pours a golden amber color with nice transparency. The first sip hits you with the crisp hopiness that i crave. But yet it still maintains a refreshing quality that leaves you wanting another. One of my favorites for sure, glad to live so close to the brewery!

Adequate flavor. Little heavy on the bitter but not overpowering. Decent flavor but I would not go out of my way to drink.

Well-chilled 12oz bottle poured into a snifter. Pours a robust amber color with a slightly lacy, off-color head. Head is dissapointing and dissapates way too quickly (multiple pours were made to be fair). The strongpoint to this brew (pre-taste) is the hop aroma. It has a fabulous, inviting aromatic quality. The nose is rife with floral hop notes and a surprisingly crisp, fruity freshness. Possible detection of caramel tones. Mouthfeel is somewhat lacking. It’s aroma belies a full body malty feel that is not there. It is possible that the over-bittering is simply masking the malt flavor. Taste is slightly sweet, a bit too strong on the bittering hops, and a bit too light on the finishing hops, however it is still a well-balanced brew and a worthwhile selection.

A great tasting beer which goes down nice and easy. I love to sit and drink 2 or 3 during one sitting.
